Depends on retaining money, and if hawks are swinging for a rebuild or retool. Could use either or in Winnipeg but would have to be rather creative to get under cap

Definitely need to retain salary to increase the return. Most contenders don’t have $10.5 mil in cap space. Plus Kane returns a lot more than Toews imo.

Kane is worth a good amount. Toews is negative value.

Literary Kane or Toews didn't do anything wrong, it was a failure by the Blackhawks front office. Beach was an AHL player not on the Blackhawks and was separate from the team, didn't practice with them, and was brought up as a "Black Ace" in case of injuries or suspension during the playoffs that's it, The slurs is he said she said and there hasn't been evidence supporting his claim.

So then why would you care about their value then? neither are waiving for Ottawa, So rightfully it doesn't matter.

Forget that Ottawa was even in the post.

I care about their value because I'm a fan of NHL hockey, just like you.

But, more importantly, I'm a fan of someone who values right over wrong.



At this point, Kane and Toews don't appear to be valuing right over wrong.

Toews admitted he knew the following training camp, said nothing, there was homophobic slurs directed at Beach in that locker room, on the ice, at training camp, that is his locker room. He turned a blind eye to it bc as he said he was focused on winning. Kane was a leader in that locker room, same as Keith. Sopel Boyton and Beach himself said that everyone knew and talked about it. They knew and did nothing and allowed the taunting to happen with the culture they set up in that dressing room. This is the same year that the Bill Peters and Akim racist stuff was going on in the AHL, its not just a front office thing, it was a systematic toxic culture throughout the org....front office, leadership, and the players on the ice all allowed it to breath and grow

Him knowing and doing nothing isnt a good look bc its more than just the act itself now. And with his presser comments yesterday defending Bowman and crew, in the eyes of many around the league and fans, the once great captain in Toews has been tarnished
