I don’t know much about Arizona but it doesn’t look like you’re giving up any pieces of value to them…

I bet Arizona would want high picks and big prospects for a 1LD, just cause he’s starting off slow, doesn’t mean Arizona is gonna settle for less…

Seems like a quantity over quality kind of deal, can’t see Arizona entertaining this idea.

I think Hronek, Suter, Viro, Berggren are 4 quality pieces for a rebuilding club...especially Hronek and Berggren. I would think Arizona would want a pick (or picks) as part of the deal or one higher-end piece.

How about:

1. Hronek
2. Berggren (or Suter if they prefer)
3. Wallinder (or Viro if they prefer)
4. Two conditional 2nd round picks (2023, 2024)*

* Conditions: The 2nd round picks can turn into 1st rounders if Red Wings make playoffs and Chychrun plays in 80% of games. That essentially would make the picks between #17 and #49.

Question - why would ARI ever agree to sell Chychrun on low value? He's inked long-term and is an important piece of that rebuilding team.

Ding, ding, ding!

There's absolutely no reason for them to move him without being overwhelmed by a trade offer. Plus, it's pretty easy to figure out why Chychrun's numbers are as poor as they are right now-They're putting him in dumb situations, although they might not really have much of a choice given how crappy they are...
-83.1% OiSV% (Those are high quality rec hockey goalie numbers!)
-44.4% oZS% (He was at 61% last season)
-Averaging around 2 minutes on the PP per game...last 3 years were close to 3 a night.

Cost controlled young RFAs with potential tho

If not these guys what pieces would they be interested in... maybe 2002+ birthdays... but they can't afford to tank for quite that long given everything so

Seems like a solid return

Berggren posted a historic age 20 season in the SHL and every other season his NHLe has been on par with most A level prospects, so yeah ✔

He's of value to anyone who can 5 mins of research

One might say he fits Arizona's timeline perfectly

Nice research there thx 👍

Stuff to add:

- After a high 10%sh year last year he was due to likely be around 4% shooting this season and so his 0% rate so far isn't too crazy, just a really tough start

- Fewer good forwards to help boost his point totals

- GHOST BEAR DUN STOLE ALL HIS DURN POINTS!!

Ok the last one is just classic frontier jibberish but

Yeah he's definitely in a tough position

Heh. So 12 games for this Arizona team is enough to drop someone to buy low status? People be trippin'.

i don’t think arizona has any motivation to sell low on him rn. maybe before his final year if he keeps getting worse and it doesn’t look like he’ll improve or re-sign, but for now he’s got more value to the team than he does as a trade chip since he has years of term unless they get a phenomenal offer.

100%. There's so many middle of the rung teams right now, so I could absolutely see a situation where someone comes in and offers a package that the Yotes can't refuse, but I don't see any situation where they say "Ah $hit...he sucks now...let's sell him off for no reason whatsoever".

#1 - He's got 1 secondary assist and is a -20 after 12 games. Slow start is putting it a bit mildly.

#2 - I didn't say that this trade had to be today. If you notice, Vrana is in the lineup, so this hypothetical would be around the TDL and assume that he's still having a rough year

#3 - This would obviously require some input from the player. If the Yotes are still tracking 7 wins after 50 games, Chych might decide he's seen enough and request a trade.

#4 - Hronek is a young top 4 PMD RHD who puts up .5ppg and is signed to a very reasonable contract for 2 more years after this one. Ghost and Hronek would make a nice top pair. Who do the Coyotes have on the right side rn?

Suter is a young middle 6 C who puts up .5ppg signed to a very reasonable contract for 1 more year after this one. He could come in and hold down the 2C until Hayton is ready to take over.

Berggren is a young middle 6 winger with 3 years of elc left who's ready to step into the NHL and be productive now. He'd look pretty good on Hayton's wing too.

Viro is a one of our better LD prospects who's progressing very nicely and should be ready for the A next year, his D+3. Would be a nice asset for Arizona to have along with their top 5 this year and next and 8 first and second round picks this year.

honestly don't think it'll ever happen considering Detroit could've had this guy but dumped pavel's contract and took cholowski instead... who's so far turned out to be an absolute bust. would look terrible on Detroit's part.
