No one overrates their LTIR depth like Habs fans on here. Price is no longer 25, healthy, or on a reasonable contract anymore.

None of those teams accept. You wouldn’t get COL to do Newhook for Price 50% retained. Keith asked for the trade to western Canada to be closer to his son. Why would VAN want Gallagher knowing all the guys they have to re-sign and not being anywhere close to a playoff spot. NYR isn’t trading Laf.

Maybe STL does that.

That Price offer may be the new worst trade offer ever seen on capfriendly. Price has negative trade value with his contract and age. Though I think he's a good goalie.

Vancouver says no way. We don't have the need or cap space for Gallagher. Also 2 2nd round picks is overpayment, in reality you would probably have to add picks or retain salary to move him.

Toffoli is going to miss the next 8 weeks, Petry is on pace for 7 points this season, and those two picks aren't even in this year's draft. You'd be lucky to get Strome alone for that package.

1) Marc-Andre Fleury wins the Vezina, 1 year left at 7.0 M$ AAV (6 M$ salary)

Traded for :

Mikael freaking Hakkarainen (a 23 y/o forward prospect with 0 pts in 14 AHL games)

2) Carey Price, 34 y/o, long injury list, 4+ years left at 9.0 (with that massive 1.5 retention!)

Left unprotected for Seattle. They do not pick him, but instead draft the stud Cale Fleury.
