I don't agree with it but you can't at least justify it. I would assume Lambert's logic is they have won with Johnston in the lineup and he had an assist last game. Palmieri's career has taken a weird turn, he used to be a guy who didn't drive offense at all but had elite finishing ability, now he drives offense but can't finish.

no they didn't, they should have traded him the year before. They could have gotten a 1st + top prospect.

True but they were leaning to keep him at that point. He was regressing in his last year in NJ and then fell off a cliff in NY. Still got a first+ for him which was great value based on the season he was having

They shouldn’t have been trying to re-sign him at the time because the Devils were nowhere close to contending and Palmieri was exiting his prime. He was one of the more underrated players in the league at the time. The devils got a 1st + Foote for Coleman , imagine what they would have gotten in return for Palmieri.

The trade made sense for the isles , palmieri was due for positive regression (which you saw in Pit+Boston series). The isles shouldn’t have re-signed him considering they have Wahlstrom but he’s still a solid middle 6 W

Wait Lane Lambert is with the Isles

So that means per NHL generalizations

Brad Lambert is most likely gonna end up an Islander if he makes it that far down

As NHL teams always like to add coaching staff family members whenever possible and Brad is Lane's nephew

yeah I think the isles will pick anywhere from 7-12 , Lambert should be available.

Older goalies often have a higher chance at injuring themselves and the way Smith plays makes it more likely and what makes it worse is he is signed into next year. This is his 4th injury and from the looks of things not gonna be his last.

Holland should be on the phones rn looking for a trade as yes they got Skinner but you need that true starter as if your planning for a long run how confident are you in Koskinen/Skinner
