Dzingel isn't even a centre lmfao, how in the world did THIS team break Colorado's home winning streak, like come on, hockey's such a stupid game to try and predict.

It would be nice if the Leafs got that same kind of leeway but unfortunately they don't.

Agreed but he certainly wasn’t the only one, our own fan base does as well 🤦‍♂️. I just hate the double standard.

The Leafs have been on an absolute heater since game 8 of the season. They are allowed of few stinkers along the way 🤷‍♂️

Would it make you feel better if I called the Avs a poverty franchise? I feel like that was heavily implied. No top 5 team should be losing to Arizona. Colorado does get more leeway than Toronto because they’ve actually won a playoff series since capsfan2121 has been alive and just went 15-0-1 in the month of January, as well as the aforementioned 18 game home winning streak, which is more impressive than anything the Leafs have done, but they still should never be losing to the Coyotes, and the fact that they did is shameful (although at least they got a point out of it). So yes, the Avs have earned more leeway than the Leafs in general, but it’s also equally as unacceptable for them to be dropping a point to a team like the Coyotes (or Habs).

Sens have won 2 more playoff series than the Leafs in the last 5 years, and 7 since the Leafs last won one wink

All good, don’t want to get into a pissing match, I just find the hypocrisy funny:

MacKinnon
Landeskog
Rantanen
Six years together, 3 playoff wins (never passed the 2nd round)

Barkov
Huberdeau
Ekblad
Eight years together, 0 playoff wins

McDavid
Draisaitl
RNH
Seven years together, 1 playoff win

But it’s just the Leafs that get **** on the MOST for pretty much everything, regular season or playoffs that I find annoying.

I mean, part of that is the extensive coverage they get, they’ve been hailed as a contender for at least 3-4 years by the media (and rightfully so, at least for the last 3, they have the team to be in that conversation), have been the favourite to win at least a round more than once, and always find a way to choke. They get the most flack because they have the most coverage, and have technically been a contender the longest (Avs have been a contender for 2 years, Panthers for 0 as this is their 1st, Oilers for 0). Like for Colorado, at least they’ve managed to take care of business in the 1st round since they’ve been the favourite to win (only the last 2 years remember, their 2019 round 1 victory was an upset as the 8th seed with Makar debuting partway through that series) and their 2 round 2 losses were to Vegas (basically a coin flip matchup), and Dallas, but with their 3G Hutchinson in net lol. Florida hasn’t had a goalie, so this is their first year as a contender (could maybe argue last year, but nobody expected them to beat Tampa), so now we’ll see how good Barkiv/Huberdeau/Ekblad do in the playoffs. Oilers deserve every bit of flaming for their poor roster construction, because they had a decent enough goalie (Talbot) but have literally never had 1 defenseman that is good in his own end. They get **** on constantly, and deserve it, although most of that is directed at management for failing to build a contender (like Florida until Zito), unlike the Leafs, who are a contender with all the pieces (or at least enough to hypothetically win a round or two) but don’t win in the playoffs.

All good, agree to disagree. Tough to win a game 7 with these.

Toronto Maple Leaf's Frederik Andersen is Game 7's in his career

Anderson - (0-3, .000)
.840 Save% - 4.51 GAA

Yeah it's tough when you think you have a top 10 goalie and he chokes consistently, but again, he's a player. The Leafs also had a chance to knock out the Bruins in game 6 in 2019, and were also up 4-3 going into the 3rd in game 7. In 2020 they choked a 3-0 lead in game 3, and then couldn't win the clinching game 5 against a much worse Columbus team. In 2021 Campbell outplayed Price for most of the series and the Leafs still lost (yes Tavares was hurt, but they were still heavy favourites without him, as evidenced by winning 3 straight and being up 3-1 in the series without him). It's always been on the Leafs personnel, because on paper and based on the regular season, they should have all the pieces. Their collapses have been spectacular, early, and should not have happened, which is why they get more coverage than other teams.

Yep. We'll see what Vegas is made of when the team goes into a rebuild. That's usually when you find out how strong the fanbase actually is

Vegas will be like Arizona when they rebuild, I think.

Yup, they’ve had Muzzin injured in two straight playoffs, Tavares injured last year, Kadri suspended in two straight playoffs, Andersen failing them, Leafs shooting 2% against Columbus, Korpisalo playing like a Vezina goalie. A lot has to go right to win in the playoffs.
