All I know is the Leafs have the fire power to complete with both FLA TBL. For me it doesn’t matter who is added, they will only go as far as Matthews Marner Tavares Nylander can carry them.
I’ve said it once I’ll say it again, Greg Harden will be the best addition Dubas has made for this team.
I still think its both Dean Chynoweth and Spencer Carbery
When was the last time Leafs had a penalty kill this good... Like its top 3 rn and the way they play is solid, like if they dont get a SHG chance its mindblowing.
And thanks to Carbery PP has not missed a beat.
Like dont get me wrong I love Malhotra but he was not fit to be the main PP coach. Love the fact he helps out with both the PP and PK as I have seen him helping out with Dzone positioning and faceoffs.
I think the season they are currently having saves his job win or lose in the playoffs
Based on the performances of the big names, the goaltending, and even the depth, if this team fails to advance out of the 1st round again, there will be a major change. Dubas has given this group all of the tools to win and the talent is clearly there. They need to take a step. Another 1st round exit would signify that this team, as currently constituted, cannot win in the playoffs. Also, TBL and FLA are gonna be at the top of the division for years to come. It's not getting any easier.

I think the same as to me one of Marner or Nylander is gone (should they not have success in round 1 and nobody gets hurt in the playoffs). As I will say (if it happens) 3 years of key players getting stretched off in games 1 or 2 is a WTF moment lul. Now who to move, I know people eye Marner (contract mainly). But I got a feeling its Nylander as for his contract is easier to move and hes a streaky one sided threat. On the other hand Marner had been on fire, is our PK's greatest weapon next to Kampf, and Bunting-Matthews-Marner has been scary good (19 points in 8 games doesnt hurt either) lul.
Curious on people’s thoughts. The Leafs required the fewest games in franchise history to reach 30 wins in a season, besting their mark set in 1934-35 and matched in 2020-21 (48 GP). They are on pace to post their highest point total in franchise history.
If they bow out in a hard fought 6-7 games against FLA or TBL (who are also putting up ridiculous seasons) does this still keep Dubas in his GM role? Trades will most likely happen, but would he be the one making them.
Serious answers if you just wanna be a wanker and have Leaf hate, just ignore and don’t respond.
I mean, as an owner, you want your team to perform but if the Leafs show that they can stay with Florida/Tampa and not “choke” while putting a great regular season, Dubas probably stays
I mean if he performs as he should why would anyone complain? Seems pretty self-explanatory to me.
Yeah exactly. Just saying that all the people who were attacking him are silent, I knew he was better than the scoresheet was saying, and now its being proven

Big contract in a big market, if he’s not performing he’s going to hear it. He’s been decent after the first 9 or so games, and very very good as of late ppl just carried on the hate from last years playoffs with the slow start.
Idk really who ‘deserves’ him the most but for the sake of the NHL I think it’s best for the league if he ends up a Hab. You want big time players playing in big time markets, not in Arizona lolol.
With marners goal streak, I haven’t heard anyone b**ching about his 11mil deal…..
I mean, anyone who complains about Marner is wrong unless you're saying he should've gotten 500k-1mil less. People seem to be biased against him but the only possible knock against him is that he's slightly overpaid

Seattle, out of the teams at the bottom, they're the ones that deserve him the most imo. Arizona shouldn't be in AZ so they're out, Montreal just went to the finals, NJ has Hughes, Hischier, Mercer, etc, Ottawa has a good prospect pool and well Buffalo is Buffalo, they'll probably ruin him too

I haven't thought of Seattle, to be fair I forget they even exist sometimes.

I still don't think Seattle deserves him, since they got Beniers last year and they are still quite new.
Hmm. That's a tough question. I would probably choose someone like Arizona, but the franchise is in such disarray i think they would ruin him.
The Habs have good young talent coming up, so maybe them.
if I'm saying most deserving, probably one of Ottawa or Montreal. Both teams are doing well at rebuilds and are UNBELIEVABLY promising; few organization issues (aside from Melnyk), and they both have a supporting cast for Wright.

100% he's overpaid by a mil or 2. But its nice to see 11mil not just wasting cap space and actually contributing and giving a solid effort.
