Pretty much. Not every team is trading their 1sts. Guys like Giroux, Pavelski, Klingberg are going to be the ones to get 1st round picks

Their fans thought he would get a 1st, too prospect plus more. They didn’t get that. And Chiarot isn’t getting a 1st especially if he’s hurt

Not a Habs fan, so don't know the true ins and outs of what's happening, but trading Dvorak for that package after 34 games with the team seems like a tough loss to take - basically you turned one of the firsts you got from Carolina into Seattle's 3rd? Not a fun time, I'd be surprised if they make that move. Not arguing if it's fair value or not, just would be surprised to seem them eat that big of an L 5 months after making a trade.

Chariot is getting a first. Most playoff teams are interested. His injury isn’t a big deal either, it’s day to day.

To be fair, and I've given Habs fans their fair share of "C'monnnnnn guys!", this should give every fan base that has some upcoming UFA's on the block an opportunity to temper expectations a bit.

I mean, I wasn't expecting much more than the JT Miller return for Toffoli (1st+3rd), and as a Ducks fan, I'm not going crazy expecting a boat load back from Hampus, Rakell or Manson, but this definitely scares me a bit.

Well if they retained half on Toffoli they would have gotten a higher end prospect to go along with their first. So its not very far off from what people were purposing.

What are you going to say if Chiarot does get a first back?

No one was willing to admit Toffoli would get a better return than Miller did a few years back (1st + 3rd + Mazanec) ... Habs got a better return. So please, go on...

No retention. Many of the proposals with Zary / Coronato had 50% retained. You *conveniently* left that out…
