How dare you lump Gio in with that bunch smh. Gio’s worth a 1st because he’s still actually decent at hockey. Chiarot’s maybe worth a 2nd half-retained because he’s big, but will likey bring in a 1st because hockey people are stupid. Subban’s probably got the most playoff experience plus charisma, leadership, etc., but even 75% retained costs too much because he’s no longer good, so he’ll maybe get a 3rd or 4th. Whichever team gets Gio will be happy with their purchase even if they don’t win the cup. Whichever team gets Chiarot will regret it unless they win the cup.

I had to put him with the rentals as technically he is a rental, but of all of them hes the best guy rn. Hes realistically the one I would give a 1st for.

What people fail to realize, is that even tho a player may have been top of the league and worth plenty at one point in their career, they may not still be at that caliber. Subban’s name and memories of his career in MTL are what is giving people false value, he may have been worth a lot back then, and theyre constantly misjudging how much former play and potential factors into trade value

Gio + Jarnkrok or something to Toronto makes sense. As why make a deal with 2 teams when you can just shop at the same store. No need for retention either as both guys by the TDL cost under 3mill against the cap combined.


Unless they can make a deal for Stasney and Demelo in Wpg. But Demelo is a RD, k maybe if he plays with Sandin who cares? This deal also works as you get a RD to throw Holl out (what most fans want shrug) and a guy who can play LW/C better than Kerfoot...

I don’t think he’s worth a first but he’s definitely getting underappricated by people
Subban would be a good bottom 4 offensive dman at 75% retained
And there’s a good chance Subban gets more in return than a late pick because
1) Big name
2) Barely any RD on the market
Defensemen like Ristolainen and soon Chiarot got big returns despite having poor on ice play
The only RD on the market that I can think of are Klingberg (who might not even get traded), Petry (huge contract), Miller, Ristolainen, and Subban
