Montreal is not the right destination to take on salary. They already are pretty tight against the cap and are actually working to trade some of them. Probably Seattle would be fine with it.

I don't think anyone takes Nemeth for 2 more years at 2.5 mil for just a mid/late 2nd.

Detroit has no reason to make that trade

When the offer is pretty good, this trade leaves Wings with no #1 center.

Seattle have tons of cap space. They are clearly looking for pick and prospect. 2,5 for 2 years isn’t that bad for a team that won’t clearly spend to the cap in that spend.

Why take him for a 2nd though, he likely won't get into many games and takes a contract spot. I would demand a 1st, but that is just me.

laugh laugh First off that doesn't get Larkin, And secondly it will cost 8 years $72,000,000 to sign him so you don't have the cap space to sign both Copp and Larkin and there's no freaking way Copp takes $4,000,000 x 6 years when he's seeking $5,500,000 x 5-6 years. Detroit rejects that doesn't get Larkin period.

Aside from the laughable return, Larkin is untouchable. It's not even a discussion.

Philadelphie paid a 2nd to take on 4,5 millions Gosti contract.
Nemeth is bad but he still can provide NHL minutes. They might get a 2nd for him then ship him back half retain a the deadline for another pick. Unless other team offer better return this could be it. Francis is better to use the cap space available than being to greedy and and up with nothing. There been report that he didn’t end up with much pick in the expansion draft because is demand was too excessive.

Value wise it's a good offer for Larkin but we have no centers so nah, plus Idk how you afford to extend him.

I think you guys are missing the important question. With the the amount of good D prospects the Ranger's have why in the world would they sign Nemeth to a 3yr deal?
