I think CBJ only makes that trade if Wright is still available

Detroit isn't trading up. There is no sure thing in the draft and we'll take our chances with who Yzerman gets at 8.

Ott declines easy, they would not trade Pinto 1 for 1 for 1 for 2nd overall yet Lone adding 7th

I think I would still rather pick at 6 and 12. Gives us a better chance of hitting on at least one. Really the only reason to trade one or both of the picks is for a 1C or top pair RHD that fits our timeline

Yes that 7th is a deal breaker.

He's been MONEY so far and he hasn't even had a top 3 pick.

Yeah, Shane Wright would theoretically be that 1C we have been looking for. He would still fit our timeline for our window opening in 2-3 years

Love Pinto to death, but absolutely yes they do. You bet on Slafkovsky or Wright all day of the week imo.

I agree that trading Pinto and a 2nd to move up 5 spots is unbelievably stupid though.

Yeah idk he just doesn’t seem to have the ceiling of other number one (or two) picks. I’m not going to pretend to be a draft expert. I’m confident that whatever jarmo does will be the right move. I still can’t believe the hauls he got for jones, foligno, and Savard. Those trades probably cut two years of the rebuild. Not to mention trading PLD for Laine and Rosie

OTT would do this, if Branny or the 2nd was downgraded a tiny bit. Take JBD or Lassi or take a 3rd next year

Ottawa wouldn't make that trade with Pinto included. I think if you switch out Pinto for a prospect or 2 like Jarventie and Lodin, that would work.

I'm sure Ottawa would also do their 2 2nd round picks with Connor Brown for number 2 overall.

I think the Wings would consider that. Yzerman has picked great at 6, 4, and 6 the last three years so I am confident he gets a player at 8, but Cooley could be a stud that really boosts the rebuild.

I think NJ would ask for more though.

Detroit says no. Remove Zadina or the 2nd and Yzerman considers it.

Replace Pitlick and Ylonen with one of our d prospects other than Guhle, Barron, Harris or Romanov and add Zacha

Could also replace the Fla pick with a Habs one but top 10 protected
