Just a little FYI, Lou was interested in signing Kadri because that’s one of “his guys”. He didn’t care that the isles have 3 strong centers - but I can guarantee the isles are not looking to acquire another center. Kadri was the exception, if anything they are looking for a winger right now but that’s not even likely to happen. They’ll go into the season with what they have

I should start a fake rumor account on Twitter and see how many followers I can get before the start of the season.

“According to sources ,Jim Nill doesn’t want to give Jason Robertson more than 7 mill per and there are concerns he won’t be a good fit in Deboers system. There are rumblings that he could be in play for someone like Tyler Bertuzzi. Filip Zadina could also be involved. Stay tuned.”

How much value does Dougie Hamilton have?

I wonder what happens if Dobson gets offersheeted. Can/would he accept it since the Islanders haven’t registered his contract yet?

He probably can accept it, since he hasn't officially signed it, but that'd be a jerk move, so knowing Lou, he'd probably let him go, even if it was for 3 million × 8.
Would he? Idk. Out of respect, probably not, but let's say he got offered 10 million. He'd take that any day.
I haven't even seen 1 report saying he was signed but never announced. Maybe they are not even in agreement yet.

Hamilton is not a cap dump, he’s still a good top 2 D, however, no rebuilding team realistically will trade for him while most contending teams don’t have the cap space for him so while he’s worth a 1st+, no team will be able to do that most likely

So, if we are talking value. (Because habs would never do this)
Take off the picks, and Ylonen. And Isles should add Raty
Suzuki > Dobson
Barron > Beau
But just slightly for both.

You cannot compare a 1st line center and a 1st pair dman and use the word "better"
Who has more value was the question.
At this point, Dobson is unsigned, and is a 2nd pairing guy or a #2 / #3 with top pair potential
Suzuki is signed long term, and below market value, that makes him more valueable.

Dobson+ has to add.

Suzuki is a 1C (even if a lower 1C) signed to term, Barron is 2nd Pair blueliner still on an ELC + Ylonen is a 1st/2nd round prospect + a 2nd rounder.

Dobson should equal Suzuki in value if signed to similar term.

Beauvillier (& his contract) + 5th versus Barron + Ylonen + 2nd makes it very overweight in favor of the team getting Suzuki+

Dobson was top caliber defenseman last season, not a 2nd pairing guy.

Suzukis contract is not under market value , he’s overpaid right now. I’ve never been high on him, which is why I thought MTL should have picked Wright. Suzuki will likely top out as an above average 2nd line center.

Unless of course a contender loses a top D to LTIR. Problem is Hamilton is signed long term; but I'm thinking of a team like Dallas that is missing a top RHD already.

Suzuki is a 1C on the Canadiens , he’s not 1st line caliber right now.

dobson = suzuki
beauvillier = 2nd + barron (lehky trade)
ylonen > 5th.

so i was thinking isles add something small.

No,no,no.
Dobson has less value because he's unsigned.
Lehkonen > Beauvillier.
Honestly, last season has proven that Lehky is a 2nd liner and Beau is a 3rd liner.
Isles add Raty.
