Why would Montreal make that trade? They’re not saving any money, swapping UFA forward for UFA forward when they’re already loaded there, and giving up a solid prospect to do so. Easy pass.

Gauthier for Kaut might work, but probably not the others. Lean a bit too much in COL's favour , except maybe the MTL Trade, I'd keep Compher

Bowers, Kaut & Gauthier could have all been had for Free off Waivers as well, so yeah there's that

Rangers accept. Done with the Gauthier experiment. Even if it doesn't work out, I would definitely be more willing to give it a whirl with Kaut.

Detroit passes on all 3 trades, I like Toews but not for Bertuzzi and Kasper.

Nedeljkovic > Francouz.

The AV's could have claimed Gauthier off waivers and didn't, just like the rest of the league. Rangers would take a bag of pucks for him at this point.

All those DET fans saying DET doesn’t do that Toews trade are smoking, COL is the one who says no. A top 10 dman in the league signed for 2 more years outweighs a punk who is a FA at the end of this season and a prospect.

COL also says no to the Ned trade. Why add a $1M in salary for a guy with lower save % higher gaa for a guy who just won you 2 playoff series.

Everything else is just shuffling deck chairs.

Most of these trades are nonsense.

Also how is Drouin on the 1st line? He’s a healthy scratch in Montreal.

I agree with you quite a bit but without Makar Towes is just an above average defenseman. That is what he said in an interview Stanley Cup press day.

There is a certain level of modesty involved in the comment, and playing with Makar has elevated his game, but he is far more than an above average dman.
