As, thoughts on a base deal like this:

Seider + Ned + Bertuzzi + Larkin for Matthews + Liljegren + Kallgren
Add Picks and prospects to the side you prefer
Then leafs send stuff for Edmundson

As you see the leafs would have:

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Nylander
Bunting- Tavares- Marner
Kerfoot - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Aston Reese - Malgin

Reilly- Brodie
Edmundson - Seider
Sandin - Holl

Sammy / Ned / Murray


Try suggesting that to a Wings fan. They'll be elated to hear the idea.

$15M in 1988 NHL money is probably like $100M in today's NHL. Maybe more. Nobody is paying $100M, three 1st round picks, Martin Gelinas, and Jimmy Carson for Auston Matthews or even Connor McDavid. Gretzky was bigger than the game itself.

Trevor (as the detroit announcer called him) Thompson is so good its almost not believable some of the things he can do while being 6'7". Its quite unfair because he is never knocked off the puck...he has had a couple of those goals where he will skate through teams using his massive frame to protect the puck. Can not wait to see how the rest of this season goes. Detroit, Ottawa and Buffalo are going to be some fun teams to watch and there will be some fun games between them.

Also, idk if any of you watched this game but the sabres could have had 3 more there at the end, Peterka also tried a Lacrosse goal up 8-3tears of joy no short of confidence in his game.

BUF looks like the best team out of the non-playoff teams in the Atlantic from last season, imo. Although, everyone seemed to get better. OTT and MTL look much better and much more entertaining. DET still has a long way to go, unfortunately. They've been outscored by 13G over their last 3 losses. I think we're starting to see a major shift in the East standings that'll set up the next decade.

It could change, but I believe this is just a carry over from last year. From March of last year the sabres have been a team who is playing at a 103+ point pace. Right now through 9 games they are on pace for 110. And surprisingly they haven't just beaten bad teams and lost to good ones. They lost to Florida in a close one and MTL and SEA, they have beat DET, EDM, VAN, CGY, OTT, and CHI...the future looks bright. also the sabres have now surpassed 45 shots 3 games in a row.

Yeah that Western Canada trip set them up well. We just saw PIT get swept out there. That 3 game stretch is basically the new California trip of 10 years ago when you were thrilled to get 3 points in 3 games.

Depends on what you call set them up well. We lost Samuelsson and Jokiharju in the process sadly, this team needs them back on the back end other than that they have looked very solid every where else.

Kadri got suspended to many times and the media called for his head. And to be fair he was suspended 3/5 series

Hyman would have been nice to keep but the issue was the contract. Luckily for them Knies has been demonstrating his ability to be a good PF and when he comes up in April we gonna see some net crashing

Only guy I would have liked to keep is Lybushkin but the problem is we had to many Dman

Like lets say we trade Holl
