2 years ago Campbell shutout McDavid with Toronto

2 years later he joins McDavid and gets shutout by Sorokin

Anyways welcome to the club

A_Habs_fan explained why the third goal didnt count rule 49.2

Basically if u kick it and it goes off anyone still wont count as its not with the stick

It is a subjective rule. If you think Haula “kicked it” into net, you’re reach for straws here. It’s a 50/50 call.

First goal was about 90/10 good goal. Second one was 100% good goal. Why aren’t people quoting rule book for those.

By that logic every Leafs game should be called an Islanders game because they signed Tavares. The Leafs no longer exist, the Islanders have taken them over.

2) Murray goes behind the net to play the puck, Tatar goes into him. Intended or not, he makes clear physical contact. I do not think Murray dived there, because that was a pretty hard looking collision. Murray might have not saved it anyway, but, he couldn't even try to. Therefore the call was fair - No Goal.

Murray was outside the crease and played the puck. It was “incidental contact”….which does not result in play stopping. The only interference call that exists there is one that results in a penalty, which was not called. Otherwise, they shouldn’t even blow the play dead.

This was the worst call of the three.

I mean one guy vs five doesnt = a name change

Just was in general pointing out a fun point where Campbell once shut out McDavid then was with McDavid to get shutout

But hey u do u

Refs are having a field day today. Francouz pushes Garland and the goal is taken away for goaltender interference...

Either way rules are weird they can help a team or **** em over. More clarity would be nice but NHL doesnt like clarity

Every sport got one or two rules that make little to no sense due to clarity so we get what we get

Anyways Bar is set so nothing like that can count now

Bo Horvat is tied for 1st in the NHL in goals....

Kerfoot Holl and a third seems like fair value

Most obvious of all 3 that it was no goal

First 2 were horrendous calls, the third one is the easiest no goal out of the 3 they could make

I feel if Dubas goes for a Van forward it gonna be Garland as he would look nice next to Tavares and Marner or Matthews and Nylander

As Holmberg is our new 3c wink

Got a feeling Horvat is going to Colorado

To summarize those Devils disallowed goals tonight

- NHL should favor the "scoring" team in 50/50 scenarios, imo that's a good goal, Bastian touching Murray in that play had little to no effect whatsoever in how the goal happened. They are just way too inconsistent with this goalie interference rule.

- 49.2 rule is an absolute joke. They need to scrap it, quickly. If a puck gets deflected from opposition D-man, it's an own goal and should, no matter how the process of deflection started. Like, maybe if it went from the ref or something like that I kinda get scrapping it (the goal), but how this one happened is an absolute joke.

More reasons for me to dislike the Leafs. And I don't really like the Devils either. But ffs Leafs got soo lucky tonight.

I respected Campbell when he was here but man dodged a bullet not extending him

Edmonton needs to give him time off as this man looks like he needs a break

Call up someone have Skinner start and just let the guy collect himself

As if this continues man its gonna get ugly fast. As people were like less pressure now that hes out of Toronto. Well I think there is more as he was the guy and now he looks like Skinner's backup

He was outside the crease, playing the puck. Their options were:

A. Call it incidental contact and allow the goal
B. Call interference penalty on Tatar

There is no option C

Yeah third one is debatable. But after first two, it felt like rubbing salt in the wounds.

Sucks to lose chance at historic streak this way.

You're right
There should have been goalie interference penalty
But that doesn't take away from the fact that it was a clear cut no goal

Bobcat’s Post Game Notes, Game 19

Jackets lose, 3-1 against the Montreal Canadiens.

-Whelp. Tonight’s the night we debut those awful reverse retros. Why couldn’t we just stick with the old red one? That’s so much better…

-No comments on the lineups. Just the same as always.

-The first period was a total snooze fest. Only thing of note is that Christiansen got sent off for tripping, and nothing comes of it.

-A couple of breakaways, but Sammy Montembeault slams the door.

-OH SH*T!! ERIK GUDBRANSON! MICHAEL PEZZETTA! LLLLLLLLLET’S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!

-GUDBRANSON COMES OUT SWINGING AND WINS HANDLY! LET’S GO!

-Other than that, the second period was also a bore-fest. A couple of penalties, but they were killed off too.

-Mathieu Olivier takes a good pass from Sean Kuraly and blows it by Montembeault with a slick wrister! Let’s go!

-Arber Xhekaj scores with a harmless wrister from the blue line. Ouch.

-Former Blue Jacket David Savard scores about a minute later off a deflection from Kirby Dach. OUCH.

-Both goalies (more prominently Montembeault) decided to morph into brick walls. We empty the net with about 3 minutes left, and that leads to an empty netter. Damn.

-This game was a blur from start to finish. Don’t really help that I was busy for about all of it because my dad decided to work on the sink faucet at 7 o’clock at night, of all times of the day. Let’s regroup and come back again on Friday.

Urgh.

Goalie interference does not apply.
He is out of net playing puck.

It would be interference call (just like if he were a regular skater) and 2 min for Tatar. Or incidental contact and a good goal. Their explanation was that it was “more than incidental contact” but not an interference call. Goal should have clearly be allowed if they don’t chose a penalty.

Being an RFA will also raise the price to

Wonder where hes gonna end up

Just to address the debris throwing incident from a first hand perspective:

Hundreds of cups, bottles, and other. garbage were thrown over my head onto the ice after the 3rd goal was called off. I was sitting in row 6 on the blue line and some loser dumped an entire tray of chicken tenders, french fires, and bbq sauce onto the ice. A guy 3-4 rows in front of me was hit by a hot dog - Disgusting. Very insulting to the ice crew, the players, and the 95% of fans that did nothing wrong. It was a mob-mentality. There really is very little security at these games. Maybe it's time to think about that. Had the 4th Goal been disallowed there might have been real trouble.
