Biz is Right McDavid Draisaitl Trades

Created by: jay_jenks
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 29, 2022
Published: Dec. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- McJesus and Leon are too frustrated with the lack of depth, they get shipped out. As Biz said on Chiclets, McDavid has a house in California and Kings have assets to give. Oilers get a massive haul for the best player in the league, adds center depth where Kopitar can be an elite 1B like Crosby/Malkin. Leon goes to the Devils where he pairs with Hughes and maintains having an elite partner in Hughes for years to come.
- Anaheim trade brings in more size and makes Oilers harder to play against, creating an identity, while shipping out players that are on the way out already. Additional Picks from Anaheim is due to them winning the overall trade in terms of players involved
- Arizona trade is similar to Anaheim in bringing in 2 guys that bring depth, toughness, identity and sending over players that aren't needed with the additions of Clarke, Nemec
- Oilers get potential Starting goalie for streaky prospect in Turcotte and a condt pick. Oilers have plenty of depth down the middle so Turcotte would be in the same log jam he was in at LA

- Oilers establish shutdown forward line with RNH, Hischier, Hyman and have enough young talent up front that can maintain top line minutes and production to complement Two Way players to shut down other teams' top lines. D Core of Nurse, Clarke, Broberg, Nemec will become one of the best Top 4 groups in the league. Addition of Levi adds possible Campbell trade/buyout without having to settle for another out of house, average goalie. Team is overall built for the long hall with a new identity that is a modern blend of skill, size, speed without sacrificing depth and ability. Needed additions going forward through trade, FA, Draft will be finalizing goalie situation and adding depth forward pieces when needed. There's now enough assets in the minors and draft picks to bring in necessary additions when the team is ready to make a run.

Here before all the angry Devils fans. The McDavid trade is one of the most interesting ideas I've seen.

I find it interesting that to improve a team that is top 5 in goals for and bottom 10 in goals against you decided to bring in 8 new forwards but only one new defenseman lol

Biz is an idiot, he has as much a clue as whats going on inside that dressing room as you do
Mcdavid has a house in ontario too, and a cottage.
Throw in thats an awful return for mcdavid and youve got a nice mess

Not even going into the other trades and the fact that Levi is untouchable, sabres also have plenty of center depth so turcotte would also be buried

McDavid is untradeable. You could give up an entire franchise for him and it wouldn't be enough. The Oilers GM that trades him would get chased out of Canada and have their citizenship revoked.

On the other side, no GM is going to completely destroy their team's future to trade for 3½ years of one player, regardless of who it is.

Cash trades aren't allowed any longer, so the whole "even Gretzky was traded" argument doesn't apply, because you can't save an owner from their financial troubles with a trade.

Unrealistic as these trades wouldn’t happen but I think what I posted would be more realistic of the package

I get its not the major trade posted here but wtf is that Yotes trade, just giving away Bouchard for junk! The Oilers would certainly get better then that for him if they put him on the market.

Biz always says dumb stuff about the oilers to get under Whit's skin, McDavid and Drai don't want out.

To make any sort of realism in the trade, you should show the LA side of the deal......do that have cap this year and next? You've added 8.25m in cap in the Arvidsson/McDavid exchange.
A lot cheap contract for the Devils to give up too.

You should probably check out his recent highlights. Turcotte has been one of the best players in the AHL over the past couple weeks.

You might be able to get a couple first round picks for McDavid, but you'd also have to take back enough salary to make it work, and not by stripping the Kings of all their depth/prospects in the process. You would have to take Doughty back the other way most likely (nearest contract size, area of extreme depth for the kings)

That said, LA fans might riot at the thought of shipping Doughty out of town.

He has 8 points in 15 AHL games in his draft plus 4 season where he was drafted over seider, cozens, zegras, boldy, knight and caufield.

Going great!

No they don't. For Bedard maybe, not for McDavid.

Edmonton has demonstrated very well over the past 6-7 years that you can't put all of your eggs in one (or two) basket and expect to do well. Why should the Kings expect any different if they do this trade? They'd be completely emptying the cupboards and mortgaging the future for 3½ years of McDavid.

For Bedard, at least they'd get him during his ELC years at an affordable cap hit to try and build a team around.

Zero chance the Sabres accept- NONE

We aren’t gonna trade away our best goalie prospect when we are still searching for our goalie of the future

Especially not for a Center
Not when our 1C & 2C are locked up, with Thompson & Cozens
And besides having Mittelstadt & Krebs already on the roster, we drafted 3 Centers in the 1st round last year
Savoie in the top10
And Ostlund & Kulich as well

Getting a Center for our best Goalie prospect just has ABSOLUTELY no chance at all of happening

At least take a look at other teams situations before u propose a trade- they may work out better for y that way

What the **** is that Arizona trade? tears of joy

McDavid and Drai trades are very hard to keep interesting as it often becomes too much of a quantity for quality trade, the cap doesn't fit, or the value is way off. I think your trade concepts fall into all of those categories. These kinds of trades should be more focused.
