That's a tremendous overvaluing of Toews as a rental. No chance he returns 2 first round picks plus more at 50% retained. Or at least from Winnipeg he doesn't return that.

Why are the Avs giving up multiple assets for a replacement level 4th liner? They’re better off just calling up Blidh and saving the picks and $450K.

Hell no from WPG. Toews isnt worth two young former 1st rounders. WPG doesn't need him at all. He'd be a nice luxury piece to WPG's bottom 6 but I wouldnt pay more than a 3rd rounder for him.

Winnipeg could do that deal if you add your first rounder this year, and one of your first rounders from last year. If that doesn't happen there is no chance the Jets part with Lucius and McGroarty for a 35 year old who is in the tail end of his career.

Anyone (except Hajek and Nemeth) would be an upgrade from Harpur but Rangers probably cant afford Murphy's $2.2M cap hit.

Canes aren't trading their best prospect + another solid prospect and a 1st for a rental. Plus they can't afford that under the cap anyway.
