Buffalo’s front office has been making some good bets lately. I thought they should have waited with Thompson and that take has aged terrible lol. It would have cost them 9.5-10 mill if they waited. Cozens is the perfect 1B to give Buffalo two top line caliber centers.

I’m starting to wonder if Dahlin might take a discount (10 mill x8) when he deserves closer to 12 mill.

I'm in the same boat. Never thought he'd blow his previous season out of the water like this. I think 9.5-10 would probably be lowballing it at this point.

Wouldn't shock me with Dahlin. Seems like the type that would recognize the opportunity in front of him.

I think Trouba is very valuable to the Rangers.
There are few players in the league as adept as consistently getting away with injuring the opponents key players as him, particularly in the playoffs.
Trouba and Shesterkin single handedly won the series against the Penguins last playoffs.

Having your top 2 centers locked in at 14 mill combined is cool, but the key to success in todays NHL is building around your 4th line and giving them all long term deals.

This gives buffalo about 25m to add players IF the cap stayed at 82.5...definitely makes adding someone like Meier not as risky. I think as soon as you lock up Dahlin to around 8X10-12m, unless you can somehow use Fox and Makar as a comp and get him in around 9, and then power either long term around 8 or 3 years with a 4-6m cap hit you can start to spend to build the team around a core of, Thompson, Cozens, Tuch, Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, and Skinner.

Trouba’s a good #3 D, has a propensity to go for hard hits ( and occasionally dirty ) which lands him in trouble with fans everywhere
