Larkin probably gets a higher AAV. He's been consistently a better player an is a 2 Way 1C

Which lets be honest would be surprised as rn hes got 43 points in 47 games including 15 goals

Horvat had 54 points in 49 games including 31 goals

Unless he comes with an extension I dont see a team topping what the Isles paid for Horvat for Larkin

He’s an average #4 D who also is the opposite of clutch. As the games get more important , the dumber his decision making is. Wouldn’t want him on a team I root for unless it was for close to league minimum

Larkin has been well above average here for all but one year. Horvat has been slighly below average to well below average.

Since Larkin entered the league (8 seasons including this seasons) Larkin has a higher PPG 4 times and Horvat has a higher PPG 4 times. Horvat has consistently been between 0.65 and 0.75 PPG (except this year) while Larkin’s scoring has been a bit more inconsistent (3 seasons below 0.6 PPG, 3 above 0.9 PPG)

Horvat also has a slightly higher goals per game. Larkin may be better, but it’s pretty close. As for trade value Horvat has the advantage of having a career best season this year, so I’d expect Larkin to get a similar return to him, but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s slightly higher or slightly lower than what Horvat got. Any trade return and contract will be fairly similar imo
