Canucks get a penalty after Columbus goes offside and Gaudreau steps on the puck and falls down...

Haven't been paying attention much. What is going on with the Isles? Stacked d-core + elite goalie playing like an elite goalie. Not enough firepower up front?

Here’s a good quote on why the isles are where they are. When Kyle palmieri is a big piece of the puzzle that’s a huge problem

San Jose doesn't want Anaheim to get Bedard

They have the most OTL’s in the league though, so clearly they do

My money is on CHI for last place. That roster is just so weak. just wait til after the deadline. It'll look like an average AHL team. They're tanking hard. Some of the other bottom-feeders just have too much young talent to drop that low. Maybe the Sharks can tank like the Hawks if they trade some of their top guys, but it's looking like there's a 25.5% chance Bedard is the next Patrick Kane.

Besides Sorokin, Isles are wasting career best seasons from anders lee and Brock Nelson because Lou had to sign 7 4th line/AHL level players to long term deals

If Montreal is really interested in Mantha, there better be picks coming back to take on that contract. He's been healthy scratched this year for his inconsistency. In no way should there be value there.

Being a healthy scratch doesn’t tell the whole story.

MTL should be willing to pay a 3rd-5th rd pick for him. He can still drive a line and if MTL plans to keep dach af center he can play with mantha this season and next. Slafkovsky needs a full year in the AHL

He is equivalent to Anderson, 6 first rounds picks or Washington keeps him.

Idk I mean to what end? If they ever implemented that they'd have the refs media coached to give nothing answers.

31 teams have been saying the same about Josh Anderson.

Just swap them one-for-one

Ah, your not wrong. I still lean towards some accountability and hearing their version of what they saw.

Probably won’t soften the blow on missed calls, but imo it would be effective to hear.

The story is his inconsistency and his major injury problems. He's a better version of Joel Armia. I don't think Montreal should be anywhere near that. The same way people shouldn't value Josh Anderson, even though they do.

If he wasn't making 5.7 Million I would agree. However, in the dead cap era, there's no way Mantha holds value.

Hey I agree that Anderson shouldn't hold much value, but Insiders say he's worth a lot and there's the rumor going around that Montreal rejected a 1st round pick for him.

Crazy eh? I don't think either should hold value tbh, but Anderson does. I want Mantha on my team as much as I want Anderson on my team.

It would give us more entertainment than the All-Star game but nooo Bettman wont approve as we got to protect the refs even though sometimes they make us want to strangle them

If Kent was offered a 1st straight-up for Anderson, and said no, I would seriously question whether he is right guy for the job. Odds are, there were other pieces to that deal we are not hearing. Like heavy retention, other long-term cap hits to Montreal, Montreal picks attached to Anderson, or of the above.

I dislike this argument because it somehow never applies to the Habs themselves.

I would say Mantha holds very little value, but a 3rd- 5th is about what I'd expect in a return. Especially considering his contract ends after next year. A team who wont be spending to the Cap anyway would be stupid to not throw a 4th at WSH, in hopes for his Value to raise before the following TDL, or even extend him because he could be a core middle 6 Piece for multiple years

I mean just look at the cap space in the NHL, there are 15 NHL teams currently in LTIR because of the flat cap. Calgary had to trade a 1st just to dump Monahan... Vegas traded Pacioretty for FC. There's simply no cap. Perhaps a team like Arizona with a boat load of cap space would take him for FC because they would hope he rebounds and they can flip him, but I team so deep in cap hell like Montreal makes little sense.

With the Montreal argument, I don't think it's true. Unless you're an UFA or have a half cheap contract, you hold little value.
