The condition on the 2024 pick is a 2nd that could become a 1st if they make the ECF in 2023 or 2024

Well there was lots of 1st+holtz+muk and this isn't really that far from that depending on what Holtz turns out to be. It's obvious Grier valued Muk more. This trade will need a year or two to fairly judge

There is nothing going to the sharks of value. That 1st is a glorified second rounder.

This return doesn’t help much, if at all. Two of those players will be gone in a season.

the devils based on current standings pick would be at highest 24th, assuming that none of the divisional winners make the conference finals. And if the devils pass carolina they'd be at highest 27th (assuming boston doesn't make the conference finals)

Don’t forget retention. IT’s two glorified second round picks. A guy probably not coming over from Russia and another roster player who is Sweden in 2 years.

Was hoping he’d help the rebuild, not prolong it.

Now we have to wait for Grier to get fired in two summers.

Guy is confirmed to be coming over from Russia next year.
