They need to move Parayko or Krug to get Chychrun because of their 6.5 aav. If they do not move one of the 3 6.5 aavs I just can’t see a way it works cap-wise.

Since Arizona is pushing for a deadline deal, this all has to happen within 3 days. And the rumor is Arizona isn’t taking a bad contract - so tried to avoid including anybody besides players off roster. Armstrong has also said he’s targeting younger players, specifically 24-25. I don’t think Ekholm would fit that statement, but I don’t think his statement is some guarantee for everything.

Pretty sure the only reason he says this is to try to leverage the GM's with guys with term. Otherwise, no need at all to say this.

Doesn't mean he won't strike out and get a Gavrikov or Jensen UFA contract, but if his real target is one of those guys, there's no reason to say you're ready to move a first.
