Carolina rarely goes big at the TDL.

They did it one time in 2019-2020 (not all trades at TDL)

(Trocheck + Skeji + Vatanen)

But since then its been more chill moves

Domi, Hakinpaa, Jesse Pulijarvi

Got a feeling they just gonna explore getting JVR or something

As to me when they didnt go get Nino Nied or heck Timo Meier or ROR kind of telling they want to be a bit more conservative

And JP fits that description as they gave up almost nothing

Rielly, McCabe, Giordano LD and with the 1st from Boston we can draft another LD

Dubas is really going all in. That's really a terrible trade for Toronto long term. Sandin has top pairing potential (#2 guy) long term. I was pegging him to be Riellys replacement. Its a very good day as a Habs fan

Gus has been awesome this year, not terrible for Toronto. Still super excited about Sandin though

He was great at moving the puck in Chicago. Just a giant question mark everywhere else in his game. Good for him if he doesn't have to be as heavily sheltered anymore. In context of moving for Sandin, however, it seems like he's more of just a warm body.

Gustafsson was also really good on Chicago and turned to a depth D the following year. He was terrible with Chicago and Montreal. Huge risk Here

Not really we got Rielly for 7 more years, McCabe for 3 years, and then next year a guy in the AHL whose been impressing called Raifai could be signed

2023 draft is also deep so Dubas with his magic just can go draft another Sandin as hes been a whizz in 2nd round steals

In 2018, the Rangers GM penned a letter to fans saying they are changing their approach. They would be selling older vets and starting to rebuild through the draft and player development. They select Kravtsov, Kakko, Lafreniere, declare, “the rebuild is over!”

I know it was posted, but I like this for both side, solid recoup by Toronto, and Sandin is a good young Dman should fit in Washington. Gusto even despite my personal hatred for his time with the Flyers, has had a really solid year

Give you head a shake, he has never been in the long term plans.




If not for McCabe it would have been Muzzin.

I love Rasmus and hope he has success but he struggled hard against heavy forechecking teams, stopping the cycle, and moving the puck out of their own zone with possession.

And with that 1st knowing Dubas hes gonna trade down get a few more picks and draft some nice pieces in the second and third rounds
