I think if you put both 1sts in the VAN deal and both 2nds in the PHI deal, then the valuations are closer to fair. However, I don't think we have a need for Frost, and I doubt VAN moves EP.

Have to agree with the others don't know why you'd pay a first for Frost, sure he's looked solid enough but that alone feel like a lot. From a flyers perspective I'd gladly take it though.

Pass on the Elias Pettersson trade, Cost us too any picks and very good prospects. If we were closer to cup contention then you make that trade. Not when you're still rebuilding you don't.

Petey is the wrong comp for Debrincat really. I like Frost, he wouldn't be a bad add but depends where that Islanders pick ends up. If they somehow go on a run and it's late 20s then maybe but he seems like a piece Philly would rather hang onto.

Why?

Canucks decline. Any Pettersson offer starts with either Seider or Kasper + Edvinsson for the Canucks to even begin to consider moving him. DeBrincat isn't close to a comparable at all either. Pettersson is better, plays a more valuable position, and has more years of team control. There isn't really a comparable for Pettersson value wise since players like him don't get traded unless there are extenuating circumstances (Eichel).

I would not trade Pettersson for Seider, personally. Pettersson is better, more proven, and will probably be Vancouver’s next captain. However, if the Canucks were to move him, it would require a franchise piece coming back. Seider is the closest thing the wings have to a franchise piece.

End of day, “in my dreams” is the Canucks sign Pettersson Long term and do not trade him away for a worse player
