I honestly think he would have better offensive numbers if he were playing against lesser competition, but he's also one of our most responsible forwards defensively and our more offensive guys like Konecny like playing with him.

I think he can become a good 3c, maybe tweener between 2c/3c kinda like a Michael Backlund if he maintains consistency.

I would sign him to a 3 year deal under 3 mill per, keep giving him big minutes and get his reputation up around the league so he can be traded for a 1st +

A gm that actually wants to do something.

We need more of those.

Don’t like where the league is going with wanting to go younger. I know it’s important for rebuilds but if a guy is solid and doesn’t show signs of decline shouldn’t matter what age is is unless he is like 37 or something(Ryan Suter)

Maybe Philly isn’t so far off after all, as long as Briere is willing to actually undergo a full rebuild, the Flyers will be back eventually as strong contenders

He got 40 points last year and almost hit 40 this year, he’s been a great complimentary player on Minny, he’s worth that 2.1 right now, 5 years might be a bit much though

And as I typed that comment, the Bruins tied it at 4, still amazing that this injury riddled Habs roster is keeping up with the league leading Bruins

The NHL seriously needs to rework the kicking-motion rule. There is zero consistency. The absolutely electric Leafs Rangers game ended on a terrible note after the game tying goal at 1.2 seconds for the Rangers was declared a kicking motion (even though it clearly wasn't). Gotta be the dumbest rule in hockey
