Oilers win their 9th straight which means if the Kraken beat the Knights in regulation they win the division (and possible the conference if the Avs lose tomorrow) and face the Jets in round 1 but if that doesn't happen they face the Kings in round 1, either way they have home ice for the first round.

I don't know how to feel as I want the Oilers to win the division (and possibly the conference) for the first time since the 80's but I think I would rather face the Kings over Jets as Hellebuyck scares me and Korpisalo and/or Copley don't scare me at all, plus last year proved they could beat the Kings (-Fiala +Quick) but last time they faced the Jets and Hellebuyck they got swept

also Skinner just broke Grant Fuhr franchise record for wins by a goalie with 29 wins

Kings it is

I got faith in full faith in Skinner

Me too. He doesn't even need to be great. He just needs to be solid to give his team a chance to go on a deep run. Can't say that about most teams.

Whose in net for Carolina Freddie or Kochetkov

That to be is the deciding factor

Raanta most likely starts the playoffs. They played Freddie in Game 82 (resting Raanta) and Raanta has been better than him all season. Kochetkov probably only plays if there's an injury.

That being said, neither Freddie nor Raanta can sustain their form for a whole playoff run, and Carolina will need to use both of their goaltenders and possibly all three of them.

Having 3 goalies is an advantage and disadvantage for Carolina, they can try and always play the hot goalie and they’re not screwed if one of them gets injured, however, they have to be smart because 3 goalie can be a lot to manage

We had four players take their rookie laps last night, and somehow, we won. Over the Penguins.

I didn't think that was even possible.

Ever nhl team that has missed the playoffs so far in a nutshell

Anaheim: Expected nothing, still disappointed
Arizona: Just move the ****ing team already
Chicago: We better win Bedard
Columbus: Injuries
Detroit: Another chapter in a never ending rebuild
Montreal: Easily the quickest dismantling of a cup finalist I’ve ever seen
Ottawa: It’s gotta be the coaching that sucks
Philadelphia: Who knew hiring Torts wasn’t a good idea?
San Jose: Only downhill from here
St Louis: Karma for your racist comments to Kadri during the playoffs
Vancouver: Poor man’s maple leafs with almost as delusional fans
Washington: Weren't you supposed to be good?

Nah, we all knew the Caps were done

What about Pittsburgh?

Pens just don't care anymore (for obvious reasons). There goes the front office

An Islanders upset seems quite possible

Without Svech and paccioretty it’s definitely closer than the canes would like. Series is going at least 6 games IMO

I made that like a week ago but here’s the last 3:

Pittsburgh: When you need to win the most, you lose to Chicago…..
Nashville: Once formidable hunter has since devolved to prey for real teams
Calgary: Most disappointing team of the season

Horvat is the 3rd best player on this line. No excuses, he needs to produce

Not sure if a blame management or the owners. Can't expect Sid and Malkin to lead the team to the playoffs. You need help, and you don't get that by signing old bums

I disagree but as a Pens fan I’ve seen him and Nelson own us too many times.

Besides winning faceoffs what does horvat do better at 5v5 than Lee?

I just had a delusional canes fan tell me Svechnikov is miles better than Guentzel and Skjei deserves Quinn Hughes money. Another fun day on ACGM!

Huge changes in Pittsburgh. Who do you all think the replacement will be? I've got money on Eric Tulsky (CAR) or Steve Greely (DAL). Supposedly Pittsburgh wants to revamp their analytics department and take a different approach to team building than they have in the past. Pennsylvania native Eric Tulsky would be a home run get
