Clearly I made this too complicated for you. I was comparing Hagel in Chicago last year with Foegele in Edmonton this year. I also only listed their 5v5 stats purposely in order to make it a fair comparison. When one player gets significant PP time like Hagel is this season in Tampa, you can't just look at raw points. I know this is hard, but try to follow along.
That trade was done on contract, potential (not what he was currently doing), and being the TDL to a team that NEEDED cap friendly contracts. Perfect trifecta and JBB would do it all over again if he had the chance. I absolutely can look at an overall package and not cherry pick /60 because WF can't get decent ice time because his own coaches don't think he deserves it.

He plays LW. Who should he displace, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins or Evander Kane? Ice time isn't very compelling argument as it's roster specific.
YES, if he's as good as you make him out to be, YES! No one should be untouchable. The best players should get the most ice time. His ixG and iHDCF are higher...that's all the matters right?

Cherry picking stats? LOL, I basically posted ALL the stats. Unless you care who takes more minor penalties or who produces the most individual corsi events...
I can tell you Vasilevskiy is a great goalie, but with your logic it'll be because he leads the NHL in points (amongst all goalies)...and then try to have everyone pretend the whole "amongst all goalies" doesn't actually matter. Nothing to do with a GAA or SV% or Cups or Vezina voting.

What does the team have to do with the fact that Foegele is top-10 in the entire league for ixG and iHDCF? He rarely plays with McDavid so that argument won't hold water. He's posting great results on his own merit.
TOP-10 IN THE LEAGUE!!! You don't see any flaws in this??? With your logic we should just have him replace Draisaitl...his ixG and iHDCF are higher and he's 53.8% at the dot! Just pretend he's got more than 13 faceoff attempts all year. It's true, but you'll find a way to pretend. What's his +/- per 60 against division rivals in away games? That'll mean stuff. Linus Ullmark leads the NHL in goals for goalies. Let's just have him play forward. Yeah, keep the pads on...probably helps him anyway. The league will be cool with it.
