Being overrated is a very vague statement. It could be that the player plays for an opposing team so you hear their name and see their highlights all the time. Or it could be that no one is talking about them. Then there are other players like JT Miller who up until a few years ago would have been considered underrated. I don't agree with all but some of these names are spot on!

The only people that rate Gibson at all positively are the tiny minority of hockey fans who get to see him play every game -- you know, the Ducks faithful. Everyone else on CapFriendly constantly repeats variations on the same ignorant theme: "he hasn't been good for years now."

Leon Draisaitl isn't overrated. That's just wrong.

Jeannot had a decent but massively lucky season last year and came crashing down to earth this year. He's a bubble player hits hard but doesn't do much else.

I feel like Batherson isn't really spoken about enough to be overrated? Like does anyone care enough about him league wide to overrate him? Because Sens fans certainly aren't overrating him

Hot take. Laine gets crapped on for skating like a new born giraffe and being streaky but is still a top 50 player. He’s always trying to improve his play (defensively and his consistency) even taking on the center role in cbj.

But obviously there are those who extremely overrate him, the average fan at this point may slightly underrate him.

Don't think so many are overrated but many of overpaId for their contribution on the ice.
