    No thanks.

Might do Grizz for Fabbro. Probably not though. But that’s about it.

The first two trades are pretty brutal for the Preds.

I don’t see why Chicago would pay to add Johansen, or why they would even need the retention.

Love the draft picks though. My target at 26 OA is either Dragicevic or But

Edit: Don’t love those signings either. Evangelista is going to be in the roster too

Hawks aren't gambling draft capital that Johansen bounces back or stays healthy.

I'm predicting NSH takes Riley Heidt with that pick. I saw this scouting report on him that makes me think he'll be our Johansen replacement:

"Doesn’t get enough credit for his ability to shoot the puck, which may be because he is so good at distributing that he misses shot opportunities."

BOS doesn't have the draft picks or prospects to add to Grzelcyk for NSH to consider that.

In a scenario where Sharks trade EK65 this might make sense. We're not really in a position to be trading assets for older players, but if he was #1 in SJ we could pump his value and trade him at the deadline. That being said I think NSH would get better offers from a contender if they were willing to retain that much.

Hawks decline. They'll have no problem getting to the cap floor without spending draft picks. And Ryjo is way too big of a risk.

No problem. Don’t want him anyway. Grizz is better than Fabbro. Boston has to many LD and not enough RD. Only reason it works. Rather trade Grizz for pick and clear cap space. Sign a cheap 3rd pair RD. Hopefully Don has learned his lesson and stops paying 3rd pair D men more than 1.5. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'll heartily disagree about Grzelcyk being better than Fabbro, but to each their own.

NSH doesn't have room for another LD either. I don't see much in the way of hockey trades between the two teams. NSH might ask for picks to take one of BOS' cap casualties off their hands, but that's about it.

Regardless of if Nashville wants or needs Gryz, I still cannot see a single reason why Boston would want to move Carlo for Fabbro, a much worse player who a second doesn't come close to making up for

Cap space would be the main reason, I guess. BOS is going to need to find a lot of it somehow.

You make it sound like Carlo would be worth a 1st or more. He's a solid defenceman, but he's not Ekholm or anything. A 2nd (and maybe a B prospect) would be fair value for him, IMO. Adding Fabbro is considerable overkill.

There's like 5 other directions the Bruins can go to clear cap, moving less important pieces than Carlo (Reilly buyout, Forbort buyout/trade, Grzelcyk trade, Hall trade. Ullmark trade seems fairly likely too given they already have Swayman). And yeah, Carlo could definitely be worth a 1st round pick. Doesn't take a player of Ekholm's calibre. Hronek got a 1st and 2nd, Orlov did as a rental while Carlo is young and cost-controlled. Hell, somehow Ben Chiarot, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Alex Romanov were worth a first.

Well, it's not his actual market value. Defensive D are highly coveted and they return a lot. On top of that, Carlo is 26yo and on a good contract. Bruins should easily be able to get a 1st. Ekholm (who is better) did get more by the way.

Grizz excels 5x5, was one of the best in the league. Transitions well, exits the zone well, not a lot of mistakes. Shortcomings, no help at all on special teams, no physical play.

Fabbro is nothing more than a 3rd pair disappointment that never developed to what was expected.

Yeah, Carlo definitely isn't the first guy BOS tries to move. I still think a 1st is a bit much, but a washed up Granlund fetched a 2nd, so who knows?

You're selling Fabbro short. He's a solid 2nd pair guy. Can hang on the top pair with Josi. Has never been a healthy scratch in the playoffs.

And Grizz spent most of the season on 1st pair. Doesn’t make him one.

Seems like every time i hear Fabbro mentioned in trade rumors it’s because the org is fed up with him.

Grizz was rotated in the playoffs the same way he was in the reg season after Orlov was brought in. They had Grizz, the best of the 3 5x5, Forbort the PK guy, and Clifton the team leader in hits. 7 does not go into 6 very well, something has to give.
