This is cool but Colorado not giving up a 1st especially for Hayes in this draft I hope I’m wrong tho I think he would get a 2nd a prospect at most

I feel like the magic number for Severson is 6 million on any contract he signs. This team just becomes middle of the pack level they don't make the playoffs

they might yeah. Ranta is signed out to a team in Sweden for the next two years, though, so idk how that works. Other prospects available.

Let me get this straight, so getting an in his prime, LHD dman who can play 25 mins a night, in all situations, plus basically swapping a whale of a contract for basically free since you'll get Ellis on LTIR, for a dman not in your future plans, 1 mid 1st, and a couple 3rd's - all of that is not even worth countering???

Typical WPG fans over here, unreal.

If Konecny had like 4 years left on his deal instead of 2, I’d be fine with this. I’m not comfortable giving up Mazur for 2 years. Id do the 17th pick and a 24’ 2nd rounder

They technically were middle of the pack all year before the end of the year - Torts automatically does that to teams. I think this team could get into the final 2 wild card spots next year:

CAR
NJD
NYR

BOS
FLA
TOR

my wild cards would be a mix of the following:

WAS
PHI
BUF
TB
OTT

It's not even close. I guess there is always the chance Hart can be the best goalie in the league, but even then we have seen teams that have that and still miss. Couturier has to come back and be his top5 defensive C self because his LW is going to give up as much as he creates. That 2nd line is a complete liability. Honestly good luck there in the dzone. Dman 4,5, and 6 are a problem, and I think Sanheim will have a bounce back, and I like Severson, but that pair is going to make the stupidest play twice a game and Flyer fans will lose their minds.

Any prospects you would part with? How about Buchelnikov?? I would assume Wallinder is also on the no touch list.

Honestly I wouldn't trade for Konecny, he's too expensive. I'm all for building through the draft.

At first it's "not even close" then it's, well, maybe if all these ifs happen? Well I think it's closer than not even close since Torts had us 6 points out of the final wild card in February, and this team is clearly better than the one we iced last year. Hart will be fine, you're getting players who took a pretty big leap last year (Frost, Tippett, Cates, York), also getting Coots and Atkinson back (Coots was cleared in late March/April but they held him out, Atkinson finally has a good prognosis on his injury and has said he will be ready for next season), not to mention guys like Farabee who was hurt in the summer and never got back to where he was in the past, Domi, who looked really good for the stars, and also injecting some youth in the lineup with a guy like Foerster who had 7 points in 8 games.

Crazier things have happened, believe me.

The WPG 1st is worth everything on that list. This is a very good draft. Giving up a mid 1st in 2023 is NOT worth everything posted.

Obviously the other three trades are where the action is here, but to comment on the Wild perspective, I don’t think (hope not) BG would have any interest in parting with a second this year for players who are sort of bottom of roster albeit legit NHLers. He has a bunch of those, too many really, he can’t sign them all. So I suspect the move is more of packaging picks and prospects to get young prospects with higher upside, or higher draft picks at least.

Neither player carries much salary, so it makes sense to offer up to the Wild, but they would basically only be able to displace Wild players with similar AAVs.
