What a stupidly terrible trade for Vancouver. They give up a 50 point, defensively responsible top 6 winger and the 11th overall pick. For what? If you think Garland is a cap dump, you're off your rockers. May as well throw in Quinn Hughes in there while you're at it

Neither of these trades are remotely close.

Nyr probably let's you take Laf though and takes that unprotected 2024 1st instead.

If you offered that package for the NYI #17OA pick instead of #9OA, you would be at least in the right zipcode....a bit of an overpay by the Hawks where you probably would need to tweak the retention and the pick coming back from the Hawks, but at least somewhat close.
