No offense to Jan good guy but if TB were willing to pay him that much he'd be wearing a bolt right now. They don't have the roster or cap space for him. Do you really believe he turned that offer down from TB to sign in Pittsburgh? PENGUINS FANS RUTTA ISN'T RETURNING TO TB.

TB can't afford Rutta. Eat 1MM and they likely accept.

I think Petterson is staying. I like Hartman but the Pens need defenseman.

Probably a fair trade for Gibson, which is why Ana can't do it. Their fans will riot.

Pretty lopsided trades for PIT.

The Carter and Rutta trades are missing alot from PIT

3 trade rumors for 5 listed trades? Source: Trust me bro

Why oh why would the Wild remotely consider trading a center on a steal of a contact for a LD they absolutely can't afford without making at least 1 other move? They're the last team in the league trading away a center.

Yeah No they don't. Jon Cooper isn't a big fan of guys playing their off side ( unless your name is Sergachev) and TB already has 5 RD signed to NHL contracts

Some team might give you a pick for DeSmith but it won't be the Hawks. Tampa Bay declines as well. Can't afford Rutta's cap hit.

And why would the pens trade their best defender for a bottom 6 C, it makes no sense for either team lol

From my conversations with TB fans, it seems they would want him back. The main holdup has been his cap hit.

Eh, want and need are two different things. The holdup isn't just the cap hit, it's the fact that we've got a logjam of RD at the NHL level. Bogosian, Fleury, Perbix, Raddysh, and obviously Cernak all take up space on the right side or the press box. Cal Foote got shipped out in the Jeannot trade because he just wasn't developing here and there was no way he was cracking that right side after Perbix and Raddysh emerged as NHL quality defensemen and even before Raddysh got here he was still struggling to play consistently. Rutta's just an extra caphit in a year where we need to be making savings not monster additions to an already decent right side.

Yeah. If anything, the Wild might consider moving Hartman at the deadline if a 1st is being offered and they're out of the race. That deal might make sense for the Pens at that point if they're limited on cap space and the pick looks to be in the mid-20s, but yeah, the Pens need Pettersson.

We also wanted a $90,000,000 last season so we didn't loose Palat but hey.
