Initial shock, but Orlov is a legit top pairing defender. I'd argue he's a top 30 defender in the league. Well worth it.

after grazikov, another top available defenceman takes a 2 year deal. how weird, i guess they plan how getting.paid when the cap goes up in 2 years, must haved figured no ones really.has.money know.

I get that, but the Blueline is already for my money the best in hockey. Why more defenseman?

One of Orlovs greatest abilities is to cover for tall wingers who call themselves defensemen.

So the Canes are getting either Erik Karlsson, John Klingberg, or the rumored Tony DeAngelo.
