What are the Oilers giving up on with these trades? Being competitive? Because i guarantee Matthews doesn't re sign in Edmonton, and Karlsson will not have another season like the one he just had

No, it's not worth it. Take Draisaitl away from McDavid and he losses a tonne of points. It's worth it for Edmonton, they win the trade.

Yes he is . This is a horrible trade for Edmonton . Mathews has one more year left on contract . Apparently he is asking 13.5 mil per . No way does he get more then Big Macd. I wouldn't trade Draisitle straight up for Mathews . Hawks trade is a complete joke .

Getting rid of 4 yrs of Campbell will cost Oilers at the very least a first rounder and or a top bluechip prospect . You are weakening overall depth up front . And giving away the teams future with these trades . Draisitle is a better overall player then Mathews . Draisitle is a playoff beast . Mathews a one dimensional playoff mouse ..

Cool, keep him, once McDavid leaves and Draisaitl has to carry the load himself, you'll all see that he's not what you think he is. Point a game player? Probably but a 50 goal 100 point player? Never without McDavid.

Draisaitl is a big reason why nuge had a 100pt season and draisaitl is way more consistent than matthews and he’s one of the best playoff performers the nhl has ever seen matthews isn’t even a top 10 player in the league he’s not even the best player on his own team
