No idea, happened like a week ago and we've heard nothing since, which is odd.

All I know is they were in a club.

Looks like Gally is signing with Kunlun Red Star, so Sprong will have to attend alone unfortunately

Anyone else surprised TBL didnt go get a proper backup goalie especially after Vasi's comments when they lost in the playoffs

Really would have thought they would bring someone in to ease his workload rather than someone who only will play 10 games

Can Tampa afford a good backup though?

DeSmith 1/2 retained?

I mean Stalock be making 800k which is 25k more than Johanson he could have been a nice option as he can play 20+ games and put okay numbers weird how they didnt target him

Now they still have some options but they arent the greatest (i.e Halak) or go down the trade maze (Desmith ret or something idk)

Just seems weird after their starter said what he said they didnt try to address it.

Perhaps they feel that Hugo Alnefelt is ready to compete for that spot? He's been in their system for a few years and has flown under the radar as far as goalie prospects go; but he has improved in the AHL year-over-year. If he can beat out Johansson then I don't think they mind getting him into the NHL mix at this point. He is only 22 years old and in his last year of his ELC.

If they feel they need an established veteran, Brian Elliott is still unsigned along with Halak and Khudobin.

Then they are setting themselves up for more issues with Vasi.

Vasi's comments after the playoffs should have made them go out and get someone who can play more than 10 games. Someone who can give Vasi actual rest

Going back to Elliot would not fix it, a guy like Stalock or Jones would have helped with that. Now Vasi could get more tired and have more issues

I think they'll give both Johansson and Alnefelt 10-12 games each. Maybe Tomkins a couple. That would get Vasy down to 55ish games during the regular season.

If Crosby ever leaves the penguins, I will go to a Rangers game and hold up a sign that says “Jack Hughes is your daddy”

Any Flyers superfans on here in August?

I'm curious about the roster construction expectations if everyone is healthy at forward:

Atkinson-Couturier-Konecny
Farabee-Frost-Tippett
Laughton-Cates-Foerster/Brink
Allison/Deslauriers-Poehling/Laczynski-Hathaway

Or is Hathaway the 3rd line RW?

In terms of projected hits, ANA have the #2 (gudas), #5 (hagg), and #45 (lyubushkin) defencemen on their blueline next season.

(from Jfresh)

Maybe they plan to get a top 5 again, but they are going "tough to play against" road it seems

Congrats to a true Leafs legend. While you may not be a better athlete than Nelson Mandela, you weren't half bad. Can't believe Bernier didn't thank the Hurricanes in his retirement post though, his contributions there were nearly on par with his contributions to the Devil

Puckdoku guy needs to clean it up, the game has rejected two correct answers over the last three days. Today's is a shocking error, as it told me Hawerchuk was incorrect for the WPG-BUFF square. I mean... really???

Doesn’t count because Phoenix is considered the old Winnipeg, while the Thrashers are under new Winnipeg.

Hmm. That's just weird. Or maybe the NHL franchise weirdness makes it weird. Either way, this is a rather silly "miss" to dock.

Hawerchuk played for the Winnipeg Jets who then moved to Arizona, Hawerchuk has his jersey retired by the Arizona Coyotes btw, he has 0 relation to the ATL/WPG team

Don’t feel too bad though, if it did count there’s no way it’s not at least 80% of people answering that

I think it's a pretty good deal. He's a legit top 6 forward and a real workhorse. It doesn't buy any bad years either and the cap is only gonna go up. I think Tampa did good here.

Friedmaan saying Oilers are close to signing Bouchard to 2x 3.9M

Would solve cap issue, might be he is set for an payday in 2 years though...

Technically the funny thing is it wouldnt solve the issue as they would have to send Holloway and Broberg down to fit him. Basically can have a 21 man team if they do that and sign Gagner or a 20 man team if they keep Holloway up.

Next season will be interesting as Brown's bonus hits so even if cap goes up its mostly eaten up by said bonus.

Looks like kinda medium term the oilers can afford nurse, ekholm, Bouchard, Ceci/Kulak, and Broberg.

That’s some extremely good cap management when you consider the team has McDrai and Kane and Nuge and Hyman

And they still have 5 out of the next 6 of their 1st or 2nd round picks. So they could dig deeper.
