Juri Kulich has been sent to the AHL. Really surprised he didn't make the NHL considering his amazing season last year in the AHL
I was really watching him to see if he would make it, especially with the injury to Quinn. Guess he got one-upped by Benson and Birro for this camp. Sabres have an absolute plethora of quality forward prospects so the numbers game is brutal. They are going to be losing really good guys on waiver claims in a few years just like the Senators defense.
I'd really like to know why the NYR thought signing Jonathan Quick was a good idea. It doesn't matter if he plays for free if he can't stop the puck and he was terrible last season.

Yeah, like HockeyScotty said Benson stole the spot, I think it's as simple as that. Kulich did have some bright spots but just no room. Sad Johnson had to go to the AHL as well, I think he looked good next to Samuelsson but I think EJ would be hard to not start.
Currently I think we will have to move out Okposo, Olofsson and Girgensons, which makes room for Kulich, Benson and Savoie. Going to be a lot of other good players fighting for spots that don't exist. I think Buffalo will probably end up losing Kulich and Savoie (assuming Benson is the best of the group) at some point through a trade. Going to be interesting to see how GMKA manages the amount of talent in the roster. After those 3 we have Biro, Rosen, Ostlund, the Russian wings and many other who project well and probably deserve spots.
The Panthers are sending Knight down to the AHL, that's an expensive AHL starter (3.4 with the buried cap hit), Grigori Denisenko is also being waived
I can't believe Knight is still waivers exempt. Feels like he's been in the league for an age now.
It's a much more appropriate environment for him to reestablish his confidence. Actual honest-to-god OCD is a nightmare and disrupts so much of one's day-to-day. Hopefully some sustained success with Charlotte and sticking to the strategies he's developed brings this kid back into the NHL full-time. He's a big part of the young trio of goalies I've always wanted to see in the NHL (Askarov/Knight/Wallstedt).

yeah, thats crazy. Devon Levi is beating all those players to the NHL as the #1 hopefully lol.
Extremely good waiver crop today. Jones, Allison, Peterson, Salo, and Lindblom are the headliners. Really think someone should take a chance on one of Allison or Peterson
Brandt Clark got sent to AHL pretty surprising as it seemed a near lock for him after they made space in the off season. Guess Jordan Spence will get his chance first.
