Tampa wins.

Getting a draft pick for a waivers clearance is always nice.

Fair deal but also why move out Addison only to add Bogo?

Looks like their current cap space is $9,868. If they wanted the vet presence which it looks like they do...then someone needed to go or at least get sent down or waived etc...

Zach Bogosian isn't going to change your team's fortune, but he's definitely worth more than a 7th. Wild win.

Am I the only one who didn’t even know Bogosian was still in the league?

Actually, since he cleared waiver, he doesn't have to clear them again for 30 days, I think. The rules are confusing.

Either way, players that clear waivers have no trade value.

Bogosian is no exception.

My point is that the team that trades a player for value when he doesn't have any is the team that wins the trade.

In this case, that team is Tampa.

What is the purpose of this for Minnesota? Tampa gets rid of this small cap dump.

After giving up oodles of goals to start the season, the Wild needed someone with size and grit on the right side who can help kill penalties with Middleton being the only other one. Writing was also on the wall for Addison to be the odd guy out since late last season, and he is replaceable on the PP. Just cannot have him and Spurgeon both starting on the same NHL roster.

Imma take your word for it. I'm an Avs fan so I don't know much about Minnesota

I would argue clearing waivers increases a player's value.

If a player clears waivers, it means they aren't wanted on another NHL team.

If anything, it should destroy his trade value.

It means teams don't want him on their NHL roster yes. However, he would stay in the AHL if he's traded after clearing waivers. While there probably aren't many teams who have space (roster slot or cap) to keep him on their NHL roster, Bogo is exactly the kind of veteran Dman call-up teams dream to have in the playoffs.

I think Bogosian having cleared waivers in the AHL probably has more value at the deadline than if the receiving team has to keep him on the roster. Even if the increase in value is just from more teams being able to fit an AHLer into their organization.
