Solid number for a 4C. Nice to see him carve out a career somewhere.

Why would you trade Laughton? Who replaced him at 3C?

This is a good deal for both sides. Poehling has been great on the forecheck for Philadelphia, even if it doesn't translate to direct points. His underlying numbers might not be too great but compared to players with similar deployment (any forward at 5v5 who has played a minimum 250 minutes within 1 standard deviation of d/zone starts / 60), Poehling is 79th best in xGF/60 and 100th best in CF/60 (out of 212 players). His PDO is 186th out of 212 best, so he stands to have some puck luck go his way.

He fits the style of play and 1.9M x 2 for someone who can PK and play hard is worth it.

Laughtons been jumbled around a lot recently, Poehling has played a lot of 3C tho. Laughton has played 4LW, 4C, 2C, 3C everything really

This is a pretty good deal for a 3rd / 4th liner.

Voted yes- i think he still has some upside untapped left, and if he continues his progression into a solid 3C- then this is a steal. as a 4th liner its a little pricey- but manageable.

Eh. You could do worse than Poehling as your 4C.

I ask this honestly not stankily (tone is often unclear in text), is he good defensively/physically/in the dot? His box cars are about average for a 4c.

I think it's a bit much, too, but also think he might have a bit more to give. They obviously believe in him and like what he's bringing. Two years. It's not crippling.

Lots of players in the 750000 range that can give you the same thing.
