Ottawa needs to bring smart professional players like Suter. He's on a really contract and has another year. Do you really think Ottawa will win with Pinto?

Pinto is a 200ft, defensive player. The GM just said that he's the type of player they need.

So, the GM seems to think he's the type of player they need to win. They are already working on an extension.

Pinto isn't AS good defensively as Suter, but he's a great two way player in his own right, and he has WAY more to give offensive than Suter while being half a decade younger.

I don't see anything about Pinto as a player or as a person to suggest they can't win with him lmao. He's a great young player with real upside as a difference maker, and the guys in the room all love him. If that's in reference to the suspension, that's absolutely insane lmao. Kid gave his friend a password so he could update his fantasy football team, that's hardly some grave character concern. Ottawa's already in talks trying to lock him up long term, there's no basis to be raising those kind of questions.

Not trying to disparage Pinto. IMHO Ottawa needs players like Suter to get better. Not that different from Vancouver from last year to this year.

Given Suter's ability and contract, he's worth a lot. More than Pinto IMHO.

Why? They've been playing great lately, now that they are finally getting JM's system. Pinto has also been great.

Pinto is also young, cheap, and has many years of team control.
Not to mention he's scored 20g in his first full rookie season, a mark Suter has not reached.

If they need more players like Pinto and Suter, why trade away Pinto? You aren't adding.

They could want Super, but don't think they trade a Pinto (or Greige) to get him.

Pinto IS changing the mix lmao. He was not there all season, adding him back to the lineup is a significant change. The teams been playing much better of late.

How many times have the Senators played well when they have little chance for the playoffs? They need more players like Suter, never said they need more Pintos. I think you said that.

Ottawa definitely declines

Actually the GM said that.

There's a difference between the previous years and this years. Sens have been chaotic and inconsistent under DJ. Under JM, they are finally learning about the details, how to play defensively. They don't panic as much anymore. I would think Vancouver would understand what a new coach who preaches defense and details would do to improve a team.

I don't disagree that they need more defensive responsible forwards. I disagree with your cost of Pinto to simply "change the mix". Management loves Pinto, they aren't trading him for 1.5 years of Suter. They have other assets that they are fine parting with, or just wait til the off-season and hit the UFA marekt.

Buffalo has less than no interest in trading Greenway. I’m not sure how many times anyone needs to hear that. Especially since because Kuzmenko does not fill any of Buffalo’s needs. The Sabres need more physical wingers, not less of them.

They do need to change "the mix" but they've been without Pinto all season, he's not part of the issue. They needed him in the lineup, they don't need to move on from him.

lmao Pinto has played like 4 games this season and they've been their better stretch over the season, and this guy somehow labels him as the problem with the Sens. is this a joke? I hope it's a joke
