Not sure the Hawks would be super interested in Timmins but I do think they'd consider Robertson and Timmins for a 2nd and 6th. Robertson's fairly quick with high compete- Seems to be the profile the Hawks are after. At 22, I'd say they would be open to discussion. Not sure they'll want to give up the 33rd OA pick in the draft though.

Robertson is a midget. Chicago has been targeting three main things. Size, speed, and motor. I highly doubt they're moving a 2nd for a 22 year old missing one of those key components. I could be wrong but I don't see it happening.

Los Angeles won't be interested in renting a defender, or buying a B prospect forward when they have kids like Turcotte, Fa-gem-o, Chromiak, Pinelli and Ziemmer in the pipeline.

To be fair, I'm not sure anyone has a worse cap situation than the Leafs do lol so there's nowhere to go but up.

TOR doesn’t have the assets to get Jiricek.

If he were to be traded, his package would be bigger than Gauthier’s.

There are reports from almost every insider that they are looking to rent a D.

I'd argue this package is better than Gauthiers. Two top prospects and a 1st vs a D man who is out of the lineup if he encounters a stiff breeze?

Insiders put it at 1st, B forward prospect, B def prospect

I believe Chris Johnson said he heard from inside CBJ organization that something along the lines of:

Robertson, Niemla, 1st for Jireck would get it done.

It would be absurd to get much more than that.

I think Chicago would be very interested. You are potentially picking up the best shot in the league to play beside Bedard.

Robertson has his flaws, injury prone, small, struggles to get to the right area of the ice. But given who they could play him next to, his shot along (forget his speed and motor) is likely worth a late 1st/early 2nd.

Rangers would be crazy not to take this. They need a 3C. Bert gives them a much better top 9 winger. He's PPG in the playoffs.

Kakko isn't worth more than a 2nd. Then it's a 1st for a 3rd.

It's a crazy good deal for NY.

Then they can trade picks for them and keep Kakko lol

Makes 0 sense to trade for two rentals they likely won’t re-sign

You could be right. My assessment was based purely on his stature. He could be a hell of an asset but I believe Chicago would rather find someone that fits their mold who's 4-5 years younger and could help with sustained success in the future. One thing I won't do is knock his talent and he is good.

Chicago is not paying a 2nd for those 2 players. Robertson is a huge injury risk.

"Robertson has his flaws, injury prone, small, struggles to get to the right area of the ice." Way to sell me on the deal.

More highly touted prospect, same draft class, 1RD upside, already under contract - so no worries about running off in UFA. Also, big difference between “I’m frustrated” and “I refuse to sign.”

Yeah, I’d peg it at Gauthier+

Hawks aren't giving up a 2nd for two guys, who between them, have never played a full healthy season since turning pro. And who collectively, have missed way more games than they've actually played in. Neither guy has that much trade value until they show they can play a full season injury free. Even if he wasn't injury riddled, I doubt the Hawks would have much interest in either guy. Robertson is too small and Timmins is a black hole in his own end.

“Potentially picking up the best shot in the league”… I must have misread, I thought the proposal included Robertson, not Matthews.

Seriously, the hyperbole on this site sometimes is unbelievable.
