Lol, yeah that’s the idea (although in a vacuum I do really like the idea of swapping Wahlstrom for Kurashev).

Kurashev and Jeannot bring very different skillsets though. So it’s harder to imagine this much of an overpay.

It's funny that Tampa could've acquired Nick Ritchie for free like Calgary did and gotten the same thing that Jeannot provided without giving up an entire round of draft picks.

this would go down as one of the worst trades in isles history. Not even convinced Kurashev is an NHL caliber player. Would have to think about claiming a guy like him on waivers because it’s wasting a roster spot. That’s how had he’s been.

Kurashev is my guy. Ever since he was drafted. He improves year after year and he finally found another level this year. And because he’s my guy, I’d gladly buy a plane ticket to NY and help him look for an apartment and wish him all the best with the Islanders.

The real question is, does Tampa shoot themselves in the foot again this year? And does their 2024 1st land at 11th overall?

Man, I really think TB needs to stop trading all their picks. But hey whatever makes this worst is fine by me. I hate them, especially Kucherov

All right. You can keep the 2026 1st round pick.

Hot take on a guy who is on pace for 50 points and is only 24 years old.

He plays with Connor bedard in a top line role. He generates none of the offense, they are empty calorie points

Not really. He has really taken a step forward this year and he and Foligno put up point streaks together when Bedard was injured.
