First unambiguous L from the Fitzgerald administration. MacDermid is not better than anyone in the lineup and I really liked Bardakov.

If he didn't plan on coming over I can't imagine there was much we could do about it

If you vote fair deal to this, you have not seen Kurtis MacDermid play on an NHL rink. He’s a nice guy, but a brutally awful hockey player.

That's about what I'd pay for someone like Kurtis MacDermid.

Fair deal.

I imagine his job will be to throw punches not play hockey.

Underrated trade for NJD ngl, Kurtis MacDermid has been good defensively this season according to stats, he can go on the 3rd pair and improve there defensive defense. Not bad by any means for the avs tho getting a 22 year old center playing in the KHL.

I suppose but it's still giving up assets to make the team worse

He has one fight this year. He’s so bad that he struggles to get into an NHL lineup enough to even drop the gloves. Dude averages 5:05 a night and has been scratched 32 times this year.

He doesn’t play defense anymore. Bednar said in preseason that they’re done with that. Now he’s a forward only. He averages 5:05 a night in a highly sheltered 4th line role. If you put him in as a regular bottom pair defenseman, you are probably not trying to win games.

This is a great trade for both teams. Kermit gets to play more (maybe) and will protect the Hughes bothers and the young talent. Avs get cap.

As of right now our 12th forward or 7th dman doesn't get more than 5 minutes a night anyway so might as well have a guy who can fight. Not saying we won but I can see the logic.

Oh yikes. I mean still why not try him for NJD. I bet he can still play better than Brendan Smith or he can atleast be a 7th d-man. Thank you for pointing out he played at forward tho.

I guess Devils really need to make a statement in toughness.

Avs really struggled with his lack of on-ice contributions after his arrival. Kind of hard to be a deterrent when you're a healthy scratch.

Wish him the best, but excited to see what the roster space and cap space will get used for

Interesting Move by NJD, who are on the outside looking in. TWO Young Team Controlled Assets for a Big Goon Pending UFA!? More moves have to be coming and they must still be planning a push to make the playoffs this year

Colorado gets a 7th round pick, the most valuable thing in the trade. They win.

Manson, Wood, Wagner, O’Connor all have the same number of fights as MacDermid this season.
