Depth for this cheap is nice, especially for Tampa who is facing major D injuries.

the fact we got anything for him is a huge W and a miracle, guy has been the worst player on the team this year by far, this is absolutely addition by subtraction for the team's d core.

While my feelings on the Duclair trade are still mixed, this trade has me quite satisfied.

I haven't watched Dumba much the last 2 years, it appears as if he's taken a step back offensively.

However this is a great trade for Tampa. Julien paying next to nothing to acquire a guy who is an instant upgrade to our damaged top 4. A right handed, 2 way, veteran defensemen who can move the puck and hold his own. This trade finally addresses our biggest hole, the blueline. Even if he's only a rental, Dumba makes us more competitive and takes some serious strain off the younger defensemen we currently have in our lineup. Raddysh, Perbix, Crozier, Lilliberg. For that reason alone this trade is a win.

Even after paying only a 5th for Dumba, the Lightning had the audacity to ask for a 7th as well.

Unreal ...

Julien heard other GMs were moving 2027 picks and realized he had a full class to play with there lol

Jokes aside good price and getting an asset back. Can't lie he somewhat improves the right side.

7 7th round picks in the next 2 drafts. What is Tampa cooking?

I mean there is definitely value in the 7th round. Look at Montreal the previous few years

Can't lie this is exactly how I feel after the TDL. We didn't go ballistic like other years and were somewhat cautious spending, though losing Thompson absolutely sucks. Have a feeling JBB might pull a draft day move and manage to get an early round pick. Once again we've got another logjam of RD, do you think anyone is getting shipped out this off-season? Perbix @ 1 Year and 1.125? Raddysh?

Duclair and Dumba bring speed and grit.... and defence unreliability lol. Let see if it works out for them. Nobody in the East made major move, it's still open for them.

Same. The Duclair trade would sit fine with me if it wasn't for losing Thompson. Even if we are log jammed on the right, we could have moved him for a different return. Prospect swap, draft pick, or more than a rental. Not to say Duclair couldn't be resigned but that's not the issue at hand here. I'm unsure if we move someone. Personally, I would. For me, Perbix is the guy to go. While he is only in his second season, I'm completely turned off by his apathetic nature. He needs a wake up call in regards to his effort, focus, and engagement.

Dumba is having a bad year and he is overpaid. On the other hand, the return is close to nothing, so call it a fair deal.

I remember when people actually remember people thought that the yotes would make the playoffs, glad I never bought the unexplained hype

They could win their remaining games and they likely still wouldn't make the playoffs. They should be better than they are. They should at least be NHL .500.

Carolina got Guentzel that's a major move.

Big players moved at the TDL historically have a small impacts in the playoffs. Go look when was the last time the most important foward traded actually made his new team won (hint:Gaborik). Meier wasn't impactfull last season per exemple.

At least you didn't bring up Kuznetsov...

For me WPG, DAL and COL did tge strongest moves. Not sure at all VGS will work out.

Dumba is cooked and from few seasons now. The Coyotes aren't going in the playoffs. He was free at the end of the season. It's a good move for the Coyotes and a bet without any consequence for the Bolts.

This seems like a Win for TBL but I doubt that highly. Dumba is nowhere near the player he once was. Fair Trade

Arizona was fleeced again but at this point they have so many picks that they could trade them all for McDavid alone
