Slight overpayment for a #6, but glad to see a Canadian kid get some security. Works well for both teams so I voted yes.

Good contract for him.

25 years old

Has had to play top 4 at times due to injury

And has done all thats been asked of him

He and McCabe have made a good pairing

Excellent signing for the Leafs. Getting a legitimately good player like Benoit for 3 YEARS at a measly 1.35m is huge. He's subbed in to the top 4 when needed and did an excellent job. Ideally he's anchoring our 3rd pair, but he is extremely versatile.

Easily the most pleasent surprise revelations for the Leafs this season and I'm super glad to see him sticking around. I was nervous he was going to cost closer to 2m after his great play this season and was ready to move on. Glad that's not the case

At this point, I don't think the Leafs have enough defensive talent to call defensemen #_s except for Rielly being the number 1

He's been an offensive black whole his entire career and this is the first season he's been okay defensively. I would not have paid more than $1.15 million, because that's the maximum buriable amount. That said, the contract is fine.

Treliving with 2 good contracts in a row… I’m sure he will make up for it with Marner.

I'm glad to see Simon get this contract after serving his time in Anaheim. Good for him and good for the Leafs.

I believe we've already seen this contract done not once but twice before from Trevling.

He was uhhhhhhhhhh ... checks notes ... 24 when this season started.

Exactly when non 1st round defensemen usually make the NHL.

Go home ... You're drunk.

Its not an overpayment at all with how he's played this year.

It's the league min plus $375,000 and the league min isn't going up this year or next.

He's played 191 games and scored 20 points and he's actually below that average this season. Yes, his on-ice goal differential is 5.3 above expected this year, but this is the first year is it above expected.

This is the kind of player you can grab at league min during free agency.

Maybe he going to have a break out season next year, but he could also be player who is a healthy scratch many nights.

Sometimes it’s the guys that you plan on healthy scratching that end up scoring a hat trick the first chance they get. Exhibit A: Bobby McMann

Great signing IMO. He's a guy that works hard, and helps out big-time on the defensive side of things.
1.35x3 seems like Brad's favourite contract number.
