Would that package work for Slavkofsky? If no, it also wouldn't work for Kent Johnson.

Wait, why would NYR trade Cuylle? Not saying he's a star but if its to rid them of Goodrow they dont need to. Goodrow is very buyout friendly after this season, look it up.

Lol Slaf and Johnson are in different tiers of value these days. Don't think this is enough to get KJ but thinking he's comparable to Slaf is laughable

They are definitely not in different tiers, thats some homerism talking. Slaf has the edge by a bit, but potential trade packages would be very similar. Slaf would probably get an additional late rounder thrown in.

A sophomore slump does not a wide value gap make. The statement stands as written.

One got swnt to the AHL this year the other has been almost a ppg over the second half of the season, one looks like he's becoming a dominate power forward the other looks like a top 6 winger. Both are very good players, both will have success in this league, they're not in the same tier though.

they are 100% in the same tier lol. They are separated by .02 ppg so far in their careers. Maybe that will change down the road, but right now they are very similar in value, whether you like it or not.

Eh I'd disagree, IMO GMs are more likely to evaluate young players on their current play and the potential they see from it as the most important part of their trade value, Slaf has shown what his potential is and it would be a high bar to beat.

their potential is the same at this point, top line winger. We'll see if either or both realize their potential. Slaf is obviously being given all the opportunity to do that, where KJ almost certainly wont get a chance on the top line cause of who is ahead of him, but will still get a chance to show his skills. Overall to pretend like Slaf is on a "different tier" is dumb, they are worth about the same and bring different skill sets.

Slaf is playing at that potential now though. He's been a top line winger since December, Johnson is a year old and while still playing really well, especially in the AHL lately, doesn't have the same pedigree. You add that Slaf is bigger and bigger players typically take time to hit their prime and you have more potential with Slaf.

Both are going to be really good players but right now I think you're looking at a Jesper Bratt type ceiling for Johnson and a Rantanen type ceiling for Slaf. Both are great players but they're in different tiers for sure

He hasn't been in the AHL since November.
