Chychrun Back-Up Plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Not happening. We're not panic-dumping Petersen because we don't have to. Our roster is set for next season, including the raise to Trevor Moore, WITH the $3.875 million cap hit that burying Petersen in the AHL costs. McCabe with 50% retention for our 2024 first and something else (probably Jordan Spence) is fine.</div></div>
I heard or read that the Kings want to include Petersen in the Chychrun package, so I thought they wanted to move on from him.

Hawks TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>I'd be a happy human if the trade deadline is anything close to this. Only comment is that the Hawks might have to take Pool Party from Edmonton in the Domi deal if Hawks can't retain on him. Which doesn't bother me one bit. These are all very realistic. Good job!</div></div>
I figured Poolparty would be waived by the time this trade occurs. If Hawks want him they can claim him. But if he has to come back in a trade that's okay. Hawks will need forwards next year and can qualify him for 3,000,000. Maybe he lights it up next season and the Hawks can flip him for something decent at the 2024 TDL.

Yeah, Toews has been out over a week with an illness. Coach Richardson said it was the flu. Now he's out for the next two games also. I hope for his sake it's not a reoccurence of his immune disease from a couple of years ago. That trade may have to be quashed.

Hawks TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>Murphy is the only "older" defenseman that I could see the Sabres possibly considering - he doesn't fit the age group they're building around but he does have contract term at reasonable cap hit, is a defensive-minded physical blueliner with strong skating skills, a leader in his lockerroom and knows Don Granato well from their days in Chicago together.
Only question is if Nadeau is the prospect the Sabres are willing to give up - Bloom or Kisakov seem more likely.</div></div>
i was in on Bloom as a possible return in a Murphy trade until I read Wheeler's Athletic article about Buffalo propects. Bloom wasn't on his top 15 so I picked Nadeau who came in 11th. Hawks could use some forwards so I stayed away from your D and G prospects and your top F's.

Kane TDL Kane next year
Definitely think Kane and is agent would want an extension worked out as part of the trade. Don't think 3M is enough. He probably wants north of 5M. I get the concern about his long term health.
With that said the framework of the deal is there. Not crazy about Jones since the Hawks have a full pipeline of LHD. Kravtsov, meh. Maybe Drury and Davidson could settle on different prospects or another pick.

Next year - revised
Sorry Hawks are just beginning the rebuild and aren't trading away 2 relatively high picks, a prospect, and a young pro they are high on. The "get the old gang together again" ship sailed when Davidson was named GM.

Jets deadline
Blaisdell not exactly lighting it up in college. Probably not deserving of a ELC.
A Russian playing in the KHL. Who knows if and when he'll sign here.
If Chicago wanted AJF they would have claimed on waivers.
Two 2024 picks with one a possible upgrade if Jets get hot in the playoffs.
All told Hawks most likely decline.

Chicago will probably accept a 2023 2nd and a prospect, preferably a forward.

Seth Jones
I have to disagree with my fellow Hawk fans here and readily accept the Jones trade as shown. Hawks will even through in his brother Caleb to help even out the contracts going back and forth. The 2024 1st alone is enough for me to unload that contract. Firkus and Goyette may not turn into anything and Schultz, if healthy, can play RD for a year. There are ways to get to the cap floor. Teams will be looking for cap space this summer and the Hawks could take on some bad contracts, or sign Domi/Athanasiou types for a year.
As for Jones being the next captain, LOL. Being the highest paid guy on the team doesn't qualify him for the captaincy. To me he shows very little leadership which is not the type of guy you want wearing the "C". Teams have gone a few years without a captain. It won't hurt Chicago to wait until someone deserving of the position shows up.

Kane and McCabe
Hawks can even retain 2M on McCabe then maybe you don't have to pay Anaheim to retain 2.6M on Kane. But it will cost you Brisson instead of Cormier and Dean.

You're under the cap floor by about 20 million. And even with Murphy and McCabe off LTIR and on the roster, still about 14 million under the floor.

As described, if the Jets want a local guy who has the experience, is good on faceoffs and brings leadership that could have a big impact in terms of bringing everyone together, it's going to cost them more than that offered package.

My TDL predictions
Doubt very much if Othmann is included in a trade. As noted above maybe Cuylee could be part of the package.
Fair value for Toews but put conditions on it. Upgrades to a first if Winnipeg reaches the finals.
Optimistic return for Stalock considering he's been on IR twice with concussions. If healthy, maybe a 3rd now most likely a 4th or lower.
Hawks hopefully do better in a McCabe trade. Davidson shouldn't be interested in "good value" for the Panthers. He should be interested in good value for Chicago.

Edmonton Oilhawks
I've been against taking on cap dumps like Puljujarvi and Foegele, but there's plenty of value in the four high picks coming back to take them on.
Foegele could be a body that would be needed anyway next season. Obtaining Barrie for a year at RD would possibly allow Murphy to be traded for some futures. Then Barrie could be flipped at next year's deadline. Pulju is an interesting case. There's always a chance he'll like the change of atmosphere and play well here. Davidson would have to decide to keep him or let him walk. If he's signed to a one year contract and plays well, he'll be another trade candidadte at the 2024 TDL.

Deadline Hawks
In terms of what's coming back to Chicago, Athanasiou is way overvalued and McCabe and Murphy are undervalued. Domi value about right though a 2023 2nd would be better. Since TOR doesn't have one Davidson would shop him around for the better offer.
