You should throw in Dzingle, you got him with the money you would have paid Ferland.

Good move, he can still contribute in the bottom six.

Great job getting him locked up early, long term RFA deals benefit the team much more often than not.
His closest comparables are Monahan, RNH and MacKinnon, very good company in terms of value.

If buffy comes back
Agree 100%. Buff's specialty is making average guys look good when playing with him. If he returns our defense just gets so much better since he can basically be the second pair all by himself and give the third pair an upgrade. He's probably the difference between making the playoffs and not this year IMO.
And imagine the hits he could throw if he was 500 pounds lol. He'd honestly have to be careful not to kill someone.

If we want to add a defenseman

Lol
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>he isn't coming back.</div></div>
How do we know, maybe he'll change his mind.
He's still the best defenseman we could add at this point, and we won't need to give up assets to get him.
Either way, Demelo would be a good fit even if he wasn't cheap, and he won't cost a haul to acquire.

Smart move, he can definitely be a valuable bottom six guy and they need some depth.

If hart plays well this is a playoff team
Absolutely, should lock up a division seed even.
As much as the Hayes contact was bad, he's a really good fit for them. Just a good 50-60 point 2C, and only 27. Patrick makes for a good 3C, Hayes forces him down into that role. And their defence is stacked. Surprised more people aren't picking them to make it tbh.

St. Louis Blues signed Brayden Schenn (8 Years / $6,500,000 AAV)
As others have said, eight years is to long. He'll be 36 at the end of this.
AAV is good, but 5x7 would have been a lot better.

Possibly because they were waiting for Laine to get done first.

Wow, great deal. Huge to get him locked down long term. Just low enough that we have room for Buff too. Very relived to not have lost anybody yet.
Lets get the season going now!

Winnipeg Jets signed Patrik Laine (2 Years / $6,750,000 AAV)
Yay, finally.
See people, they don't have to trade him, he didn't take any offersheets, everything is fine. They can just sign Connor now and get started with the season. Then hopefully Buff comes back too.

Good deal, gets them under the cap with no trades and a value contract for a couple years. The nine million qualifying offer isn't bad either, since he would have probably gotten about nine long term anyways.
Laine has to be mad right now. With this and the point comparable, a three year bridge has to give him about six and a half.

(CAR/STL) - Faulk & 2020 5th for Edmundson, Bokk & 2021 7th
Wow finally! But why St. Louis? They already have two top four RHD. He'll just be stuck as the third guy again, like he was in Carolina, or like Shattenkirk was in -ironically- St. Louis, or like Myers in Winnipeg. Building a team like that doesn't work, we've seen it before. Looks like a late knee jerk reaction to the rest of the Central getting better.

What do you think about this jets fans
They're definitely not a top team, if Buff doesn't retire and Laine and Connor sign they should make the playoffs though. Maurice trying to re-establish the team defense of 17-18 is great to hear as well, if they get back to that it makes them a tremendously better team. Should blow way less leads.

Yeah, I think so. Murray is quite good when healthy and Bjorkstrand could be a good top six price in the future.

Not shocked he took a discount, this deal makes me very happy as a Jets fan though. This has to set a bar for any bridge Laine or Connor might sign now.
