Does Fitzgerald make this move because we need AHL forward depth because Holtz, Foote and maybe Clarke could be in the NHL?

ah yes. lets trade a perfectly capable 3RHD with a TON of upside for a satchel of dicks and enjoying the privilege of unnecessarily burning a year off Nemec's ELC.
im sure the Devils will not regret in the slightest having to pay nemec 8-9m instead of 900k in 26-27.

FITZ L, the rarest of Ls (but they do happen apparently)

Boston basically got a potential RHD Grzelcyuk handed to them. Amazing deal from their POV

perhaps... but just an unexpected turn of events for sure. Walsh (once upon a time) was our top D prospect lol

I don't see Bowers having NHL upside anymore while Walsh does. Win for Boston.

Bowers will never be anything more than a depth AHL player. Sounds like Walsh still has a shot at being a quality NHL d-man. Boston's lack of RHD likely gives him a pretty easy path to being their 3RD next year with Clifton likely out via FA.

Thompson is losing his waiver exemption as well. It's a favor to Walsh, who was never gonna play here and is from MA

I always liked Walsh but we all know that Nemec is the top right D not on NJ right now.

I thought the Devils could get a draft pick for Walsh, not a first round bust.

Boston wins the trade.

Perfect trade for Boston, youth and potential is all they need. Its fine for New Jersey bc they still get a young player, he is just no where near Walsh

The crux of selecting 41 times since 2018. Prospect fatigue, other FA's coming in, trades, taking away spots.

This is bound to happen to all the teams stock piling picks.

Or traded maybe. I'm surprised Arizona didn't cough up a mid-level pick or AHL center.

Probably a Bruins win. Small trade, though.
