Good trade for both teams. Demelo is a solid cheap option to help the Jets right now. Ottawa keeps racking in them picks.

DeMelo IMO is the best player traded in the last 2 days and Doiron got only a 3rd.

1000% agree here. DeMelo should have fetched more than any of the recent D trades. Chevy is one the smartest GMs but this value evaluation by Dorion was horrible at best.

I wonder what @MisstheWhalers and @tsyls think of this trade. Should be extremely happy considering some of the prices paid for players today.

God I’m so glad we didn’t get in on Scandella or Dillon. We needed a guy exactly like DeMelo. We needed a RD and we got it for a cheap price. I love this trade, Chevy once again makes a big move.

I'm happy for you guys, Jets needed this kind of good news after losing the D and in the way that they did.

As a Leafs fan I'm sad the Leafs weren't even in on discussions. Wouldn't be shocked if Dorion didn't shop around...because that's such an Ottawa thing to do.

I'm saying it now, Chevy fleeced Dorion.

File this away: during the off-season, Las Vegas, Toronto and both Florida teams make him serious offers. Anaheim will, too, but who cares?

I mean tbh at the time i didn’t think Dillon was the right choice. But now I’m very happy they got Dillon.
