Not full value but that's a really good deal for VGK. They get Sissons in return who is one of the best defensive forwards. Switch Stephenson and Glass in the lines.

I originally did it like that, but having Stephenson on the 1st isn't too sexy

Why would someone even sign a long term contract there ?

I was thinking they trade Tuch to sign Hall but that works too!

Idk it's kind of working lol? Then again, I also think loyalty to players who have less than 10 seasons for you should not be a thing and leads to the cycle of good for a while, bad for a while, instead of long term sustainable success. There's a reason Pollock was one of the most successful GMs ever

tears of joy Glass will struggle and will need to be sent down again. IMO give him less responsibilities and then move up if he's playing well. Pacioretty-Stephenson-Stone were 3rd in xG% and 1st in xGF/60 last year. Anyways, you can put the Karlsson line as L1 if you want and give them same TOI.

I dont know what the vegas GM and owner are doing but its so weird. Bring in Petro, realize **** were over the cap, decide hmmm trade Pacioretty a 30+ goalscorer or a guy u paid 2 2nds for, or a goaltender whose older and on a 7mill contract that nobody wants without retention and little compensation great, this will not tip the needle into winning a cup lul. All i see is bringing in one toy for another. I think Friedman and others were right with the desperation call and its concerning as if they dont win a cup this season, things could become problematic in Vegas and the desperation could become more pronounced.

Anyways Vegas got 2 more years to get the cup to fit into the 5 year timeline otherwise i see the fans turning on ownership fast.

Petro was smart enough to get a full NMC. He's not going anywhere unless he wants to. Won't stop Vegas from asking him to waive it though.

Cause it's Vegas, guys want to play there!

I really don't think Vegas showing a lack of loyalty to Schmidt and potentially Pacioretty is gonna deter any future free agents or their RFAs from wanting to sign long term in Vegas.

I think the VGK need to be careful on how they treat players. THey were this cinderella franchise who built a solid reputation as a free agency destination and a contender, but now they are spending cash like crazy and potentially throwing away player to meet cap requirments. You hear players say they feel "betrayed" after signing long term and then hearing rumours they are gonna be dealt. Sure it's a business and these guys are well compensated assets, but it's gotta hurt that locker room. They might move out Patches, Marchesseault or MAF. They gave up a huge package to get Patches and now they'll send him off for pennies on the dollar. Im sure he'll like uprooting his family again. M

A lot of VGK envy on these boards. Does it really shock people they wanted to sign a bonafide 1RD to help put them over the top? They didn’t know the cap was going to be stagnant and didn’t pull any LTIR shenanigans.

Yea but then they trade Hall to sign Pastrnak

Marchessault-Barkov-Stone
Pacioretty-Karlsson-Pastrnak

Looks pretty good to me
But they aren't satisfied. In the middle of the night they hold Ken Holland at gun point and demand he trades McDavid at 50% retained for a 7th
