I think it makes the Devils line-up a lot stronger. This is how I would set the lines.

Hughes Hischier Bratt
Wood Johansen Holtz
Tatar Zacha Johnsson
Kuokkanen McLeod Studenic

Graves Hamilton
Smith Subban
Siegenthaler Severson

We don't need a top 6 LW, certainly not giving up those guys for 1/2 year of forsberg and ekholm

FLA trade is plain old bad. Gaining only prospects for two of their best assets is extremely lacking.

Not like the other trades are much better. Ryjo and Duchene doesn't carry this sort of value, both are overpaid 2nd line centers.

Dude, Johanssen is SOOOO overratedly bad now for his price tag, Sharangovich is better than him by himself with the value of a 22-23yr old. Devils don't have to join the ranks of completely overpaying wingers...

Johanssen had 22pts last year... Sharangovich had 30!

Why too would you move Hughes to wing? This makes so sense man, sorry. Stick to your own team bc this just looks like you are trying to make the Devils worse and put them in a cap problem while removing arguably the favorite person (not saying best player, but fans LOVE this guy) in Sharangovich.

You're crazy if you think Detroit would make that deal. Hard pass.

Not to mention the fact we JUST signed Suter, we're not trading him.

It's odd that everyone assumes established players just need a fresh start when they post abruptly lower numbers around the age of 30...

In 99% of cases it's just age decline ✔

Way too much benefit of the doubt

Pretty arguable that FLA need to take full advantage of the *potentially* last years of Barkov and Huberdeau, also why not load up the team for a big cup run?

If they can ice a 50 win team again it'd probably increase the odds they both stay by a lot

With their sketchy goalie situation (one too young / one too old) they need to super strong elsewhere

0 certainty knight will be an above average NHLer

It seems like the perfect time for FLA to be bold

Detroit doesn't accept the deal as is. You didn't pay enough to acquire Suter let alone dump Duchene. We would rather not take him but we might for the right price and a second alone is not the right price.

The only team that even considers if there’s an extension in place for either player is the Panthers

Detroit is not going to trade a 25 year old they just signed for a 30 year old on a massive contract he's not performing in accordance with.

If you want to dump his cap, fine - the price is a 1st round pick for each of the years left on his contract.

retain 50% on Duchene and remove Suter and Yzermand might not blovk your number. That Devils deal is ridicilous. Remove Yegor from it and retain 50% on Johansen and remove Bahl and switch the pick to a 3rd. Still don't like it. You should get a 1st from Florida aswell.

Johansen is barely a top 6 player anymore on a bad contract.
The devils need goal scorers abd already have 2 great top 6 centers in Hughes and Hischier. Trading their best goal scorer for a middle 6 center on a bad contract makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for them

They both get more than a 1st on their own seperatly. Value wise FLA wins this in a landslide. I didn't even mention this trade has both guys half retained. I'm not the only one that thinks this lol. You're the only guy in this thread that thinks FLA loses this

it's not smart at all to trade away cost controlled talent for a few rentals when cap troubles are coming on the horizon
